London Goes Crazy over K-Pop

On October 4th, K-pop’s top girl group SNSD (Girls Generation) made it onto the front page of England‘s most prominent tabloid newspaper, London Evening Standard. A picture of SNSD’s Taeyeon and Tiffany was printed right next to the main title of the paper, accompanied by the headline, “K-pop Crazy: Korea’s hottest export comes to London.”

With hallyu (Korean culture wave) spreading all over the world, Korean idol groups like SNSD seem to be getting a lot of love from their fans in Europe. Last week (9/30/11), another top British newspaper, The Guardian, released an article about K-pop with SNSD’s picture in the middle.
