Nana Events: NYCWFF Grand Tasting 2009

Posted by officiallynana, Dec 2 2009, 07:27 PM in Events

Pier 54 in Hudson River Park
Entrance at 10th Avenue and 15th Street

"The Grand Tasting presented by ShopRite offers an around-the-world gastronomic adventure unlike any other. Building upon the variety, innovation, global influences and availability of high-quality ingredients that make New York City a culinary showplace, the Grand Tasting features flavors to stimulate your palate and set your taste buds soaring. Experience all this when some of the city’s greatest restaurants alongside world-renowned makers of wines and spirits of the Southern Wine & Spirits of New York portfolio turn out to treat you to their very best. Enjoy signature recipes, specially created dishes and tempting treats in portions that will allow you to stroll, eat and drink for hours. Every guest will receive a complimentary Nachtmann Toscana glass. Savor delicious samples of award-winning ShopRite brand culinary treats from the area’s leading supermarket. And invite your friends along! Comparing notes and discussing what you eat and drink makes the experience even more pleasurable. It’s the best of the New York City wine and food scene all in one place." (description via nycwff)

You can never go wrong with attending the Grand Tasting because there's something for everyone. Unless the food is still moving or contains spicy-@$$ chilies, I tend to be open to eat everything and anything - so this was the perfect event to get a taste of what the city has to offer to a foodie like moi icon_smile.gif Since I didn't get to try every vendor at the Burger Bash, I thought this this would be a good time to make up for what I missed out on. Although the food/freebies were better - yet again - last year, I still had a swell ol' time getting my grub on. What better way to pre-game to Thanksgiving icon_smile.gif
