I went on a date with the director/producer of Underbelly.
Guy was a prick who dropped me at the side of the road cuz I wouldn't go to a bar and drink with him.
So I told myself I am not going to watch it.
It may be brilliant as hell, but all I can think about is the sudden stopping of the car and him going "You can get a cab here"
Urgh worst. night. EVAR.

who watched fam guy on thurs? god that was hilarious when stewie was controlling chris laugh.gif

i think i get it now, the morans first offered him a deal to fish out dino. dino then counter deals the moran's deal offering more money and benji accepted and got the money. he then double crossed dino killing him so he made twice the amount of money with only one kill

i figured it out when the morans offered to kill carl but carl countered the deal but benji didnt double cross carl stead he was going to kill mark (not sure of the name, the one not dead)
it was godfather two with robert de niro, part one was on during the long weekend

what's mao's long march about? i remember watching a mao doco but i just found it boring :S

ohh really ?? Godfather Part 2...cool
Yeah it was about the Long March during the 1930s, where Mao retreated his force for a quite some distance( half way through China.)

@telliecoin....poor you, lol.
ok since i have sympathy to you, I'll try not to watch UnderBelly embarassedlaugh.gif

I just finished watching the first episode of LOST...It was good, very emotional, dramatic, thrilling and full of mystery.
but seriously they do to much of a flashback...I'm confused of everything now...anyone watch it and understands it ??? care to explain ?

When I saw the first episode of Lost I thought that it was intriguing and well-made.
A few episodes later I became totally frustrated with the soap opera flashbacks that all these annoying characters continue to have. The producers are hellbent on milking their slick sci-fi-soap-opera for all they can get. I really hate it now and could not be bothered to waste my time on this heavily-padded load of crap.

The movie was alright, was kinda cheesy at the end.
When I heard about his suicide on 1 April 2003, I thought it was a bad April Fool's joke.
Later his suicide note revealed he was suffering from severe depression.
I do not remember the note mentioning any specific reason why he wanted to kill himself, but I suspect it had something to do with the break up of his long relationship with banker Daffy Tong Hok-Tak. I think I recall his old friend, the famous pop star Anita Mui, saying something about how Hong Kong society was tolerant of Leslie Cheung's bisexuality only as long as he kept it in the closet.

Inner Senses was the last movie that Leslie Cheung completed.
I watched it on SBS TV and thought this is just like what happened to him in real life - his inner demons and ghosts drive him to madness and he is standing on the edge of a building ready to commit suicide.
Too bad that his final movie was a dud.
Like many Hong Kong horror movies, this one was also full of wacky wide-angle close-ups and cheesy style and predictable outcomes.

SBS in April is showing Asian horror movies every Wednesday night.
Last week's Korean film, A Tale of Two Sisters, had far more sophisticated stylistics and some genuinely skin-crawling creepy scenes.

Next week SBS will be showing The Eye, followed the week after by The Eye 2.

same with me bro, in the middle of season 2, I stop watching it because they haven't yet told the answers for all those secrets but then I could not resist watching it again....I tried looking at www.Yahoo7.com.au for the explanation but it didn't makes sense at all...

yeah i felt that too, kinda threw me off how that movie somewhat related to cheung. a trigger perhaps?

thanks for the heads up in asian horror movies, SBS did a similar thing with some of the best korean movies last year. they showed old boy, memories of murder; Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter...and Spring and another movie which i didn't really watch which i thought was below par to the rest of the korean movies

I reckon his relationship with his lover and his audience is what pushed him over the edge.
When Leslie Cheung came out, he was booed off stage at his concerts.
While his private life was often unhappy, his on-screen career was great. During the 90s, I worked near the China Town Cinema, and watched many of his movies - Ashes of Time, A Chinese Ghost Story, The Long and Winding Road, He's a Woman She's a Man, The Bride with White Hair......

Ah, you watched it too.... I was not interested in watching another serial killer movie, but Memories of Murder grabbed me like the hands of the killer. It really is a superior thriller. Films such as this, which are based on real life events, often come out very predictable. Everybody knows the story and how it ends, but the team that worked on this movie did a really good job at making a film that starts out simple and builds up to a white-knuckle tension.
The look on the cop's face at the end says it all.

Based on the true story of Parinya Charoenphol, or Nong Toom, who is now a famous actress/model in Thailand. Ever since childhood, Toom felt he'd been born in the wrong body. With three children, his parents struggled to make ends meet. Moving around the country in search of work, his family ended up in Chiang Mai, the northern province of Thailand, where both parents worked in an orchard. Toom and his younger brother were then ordained to become novice monks and lived at the temple. As a novice, Toom learnt that adorning oneself with flowers, perfume or lipstick is a sin, something he yearned to do, if only he were a girl. One day he sneaked out of the temple. Directed by Ekachai Uekrongtham, and stars Asanee Suwan, Sorapong Chatree and Orn-anong Panyawong. (From Thailand, in Thai and English, English subtitles)
