i didnt get the chance to go to his concert in stockton either... $50 was just way too much and it was sold out anyway... but im pretty sure mirage took a chunk of the money made.... anyway, a friend of mine who is pretty close to the band sent me this info the other day:
"well guess what I heard about Preap Sovath when he was performing, some random girl was dancing while he was singing, then she grab his ahem!!!... ahahaha... one of my band members told me that and I want to share it with you too... and he was pretty pissed after what happen... ahahahah... I heard that they were going to put up a concert, I mean a real concert like in Best of the Best dvd or somerthing.they're people is still deciding about it and their trying to do it at the civic ardotorium in Stockton and so on so, but not sure yet." |

The music is called Kantreurm, an equivelency of anAmerican Country Music and it is very ancient and were practiced by all Khmer until the arrival en mass of the Chinese, Viets, French etc..westernization took roots. The Cambodian music that you hear pop stars sang are not Khmer in origin but Europeans with Khmer words in it. I can go on forever but lets stop here, I write more if you are interested. I say "srahlign" and thats what seperate us from the Thai, Chinese and Viets by little things as pronouncing are "R"s and accentuated the "L"s. |

Gosh..I cant wait till he comes into this area.. Sounds like everyone that had went got their money worth. I'm in KY right now..there is an okay amount of Khmers here but I know that there is alot of Khmers in Columbus, Ohio and that's not far from here at all..so when he does make his way here I have to go! It's a must!

I was in awe standing right infront of the stage worshipping him in all his glory....ok i better stop...actually the girls were more into him than anything lol. regarding his next stop, to be honest, i have no clue. he's supposed to be in houston in the near future though but i don't know the exact date. hmmmmm. until then, happy anticipating. go to his concert. it's like no other khmer concert you ever laid your eyes on.
