LMAO about half of Vietnamese have curly/wavy hair and dark skin at birth? embarassedlaugh.gif

Anyone with half a mind can see a large amount of children in that shelter are minorities. For Vietnamese normally don't have that hair texture.

Why don't you take a look Vietnamese school children?

None of them got that kind of hair texture like lots of the children in the shelter right? laugh.gif

I looked at enough Vietnamese in the US and they all look like the kids in www.hopeforchildreninvietnam.org not the light colored movie stars you posted.

This is natural Vietnamese look and I think it is pretty. In a filipino/negrito way.

I find it very amusing how people especially have to tell us Vietnamese how we supposed to look like....let it be from China or the Philippines or Cambodia or even from Thailand.

Dude it's not the skin I'm talking about. It's the features. You posted children with wavy hair and say that's how majority of Vietnamese should look like. You can have dark skinned Viet kids, but their features would still be Vietnamese, they wouldn't have that kind of hair texture

I think it's funny. The way he tries to convince everyone that Vietnamese are negrito and posts wavy-haired children to represent majority of Vietnamese.

Malayo-polynesian speaking (Ede minority) people in Southern Vietnam (singer Ymoan and his sons):

It's kinda rare to find Malay-Polynesean people that look like these in Southern Vietnam nowadays. Most (like 90%) have straight hair.

With their Kinh wives and children:

I don't think most Cham people have wavy hair either. Do they? I had a Cham friend in middle school and her hair was straight and she looked just like any other Vietnamese (Kinh). Chế Linh is the only Cham I know with wavy hair, but is it his natural or is it style?

You need to stop www.hopeforchildreninvietnam.org and travelers to Vietnam from posting pictures of ordinary Vietnamese. Otherwise, everyone will see I am right.

^ There are lots of straight-haired Kinh-looking children in there. Why did you cherry-pick the malay-looking ones? embarassedlaugh.gif

Those pics are from the same website. Obviously you chose not to post them

@doublemint: not just the wavy hair but the general look, if you're Vietnamese you can just tell, but I pointed out only the wavy hair because it's the most obvious feature that people recognize.

there will many people around the world come and visit this thread who are interested in Vietnamese people and culture. if we let the wrong statements just in the corner, they will be wrongly informed. its not that we gets totally defensive because their is no need when thruth is obvious. just giving the outsider a hint of the dirty agendas of some Chinese members in here icon_smile.gif the outsiders will see it for theirselves as soon as they visit Vietnam.

Why is rightly pointing out that Viets are pretty in a filipino/negrito way a "dirty agenda"? Is Viet not a SE Asian nation? Are its people not SE Asians instead of East Asians? Is Vietnam's basketball team not way shorter than East Asian teams like China and Taiwan?

Wait til it's richer, everything will be better.
