Actually, Bengalis can be Indian. Ever heard of West Bengal? And since when did Indians claim the achievements of Bangladesh? It's more like the other way around. Bangladeshis always try to claim achievements of Bengali Indians. A Bengali Indian person told me that Bangladesh's national anthem was written by an Indian and that Bangladeshis try to claim him as Indian. Rabindranath Tagore was not Indian.

Most Indian restaurants in the UK are run by Bangladeshis, but it's definitely not Bengali good. Dosa is of South Indian origin and Tandoori Chicken is of North Indian (Punjabi) origin. Get your facts straight.

As for India, sure they took half of Bengal, but that doesn't mean the people of West Bengal are "sellouts", but most of them are still proud of their Bengali heritage. You can focus on the differences all you want, but by the end of the day, these differences are almost negligible in comparison to the far greater similarities among South Asians, regardless of whether you're Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi, Sri Lankan, Nepalese, etc. Judging by your username, I'd guess you're still a teenager? NE Indians are not the only people discriminated against and they probably are because they look so different from other Indians.
