It is this mentality and attitude that makes the Malays distrust the non-Bumiputras. Most Malaysians have lost all connections to their ancestral roots and are stuck in Malaysia/Singapore except the new arrivals.

Nah, both SG and MY do speak with accents. You find theirs strange is due to cantonese influence , whereas ours is derived from Hokkien. Consider this to be vice-versa. In fact I find Malaysians and Singaporeans have a strange accent no matter what language they speak, be it English, Cantonese or Mandarin. I can't say much about their Hokkien as I don't speak that. They may be fluent in all, but they have their own very strong accent. Sorry to say but some I don't find very pleasant. |

Msian chinese can speak some mandarin. Their mandarin is just like Sporean chinese , with a strange accent. Same as their english.

I am not sure about that, as i don't really know anyone from there besides my neighbours who are from Sabah and they speak Cantonese. |
