I'm not really surprised. Korea had more foreign influence then what people realize.

Anyways, there used to be a relatively good sized arab community on the coastline trading with us during the Shilla dynasty. They probably had more impact on our bloodline that the Indians.

Korean is a made-up identity so it doesnt mean anything in biology. At least the majority of so called Korean are mostly Mongoloid but they are obviously also mixed with people that originated in West Eurasia.

Makes sense. The phenotypes that can be found among Koreans are incredibly diverse considering it's a small peninsula. You'd think they'd be more homogenous in appearance.

YEah, for sure, korea's gotta be among the most genetically diverse countries of its size, it was like a melting pot, migration occuring from all directions. Like starry mentioned, koreans DONT ALL LOOK ALIKE, AT ALL. There are koreans that look black, those that look chinese, those that look arabic, hispanic, polynesian, or even caucasian. They come in all sizes and shapes.

Everyone is a mutt right? The difference is that the origin of some Chinese is more "pure" than any Korean who have features from a couple other populations supposedly distant from them.

so fu-king what. you trying to insinuate looking Chinese is a insult? whatever i'm not going to get into it, obviously filled with biased prejudgements that have no backbone. so what if Korea isn't genetically pure? what does it matter? you're saying that Koreans are genetically pure and your fellow Korean Hi-head says otherwise. why get your panties in a bunch

A lot of Koreans today are getting black or white genes and they are a relatively small population compare to China, in the future there will be no 'pure' Koreans.

no, your the one getting your panties in a bunch, if some of us most look chinese then the chinese must be a more genetically uniformed race, since we all no theres absolutely no chinese with possibly black looking features, or arabian, hispanic, whatever he was saying and even white embarassedlaugh.gif2

wheres the proof? do you mean koreans or korean americans? it even says EVERYWHERE that korea is one of the most genetically homogenous populations in the world, and its true, if you're looking for the most genetically diverse place in the world I think it might be Queens, NY. You're just another chinese nationalist who needs his face bashed in.

Anyways whatever, as SOMEONE SAID IT JUST ONE PERSON!

and I dont give a $hit what anyone thinks whatever koreans came to be there are some really good looking people in my mind, and nothings gonna change that, not some indian-centric article, or some chinese whos dying to feel better about himself

somewhat, indians are some type of asian blood as well mixed with half white blood, it could be possible thats where koreans got a bit of the white DNA type in there blood and Indian blood would be blend into the already asian blood, I sort of think koreans have slightly higher noses than some of the other asians, that could of been the culprit but I sort of doubt it.

You have no idea what you are talking about. There is such thing as "white blood" or "asian blood". If you talk about genetic markers, its obvious that all so called races share many of them with each other*. Of course, if two "races" resemble each other there is a reason for it, common ancestry or admixture, are most likely. If Koreans have a resemblence to certain Caucasians then it means they share a relation. Why would it bother you so much if Koreans are mutts (like you), but you certainly hope all Chinese were mutts.

*[A possible cause of these bottlenecks, put forth by Excoffier and Schneider, 48 involves Neolithic human expansions. According to this hypothesis, the recent
settlement of Indo-European speakers in India some 3500 years ago 3 might have had a major impact on the demography of south tribes. West Eurasian mtDNA
haplogroups H, JT and W represent 6–7% of north and central tribes (Table 3), which are located in the area where Indo-European languages are spoken. In contrast, these west Eurasian mtDNA types are virtually absent in south tribes, which are located where Dravidian languages are spoken. This might reflect different responses of local people to the Indo-European settlement of India. In the
north and center, Indo-Europeans may have admixed with local people, 50
concomitant with the spread of Indo-European languages. In contrast, in the southern part of India, local populations may have challenged the arrival of
Indo-European newcomers, resulting in limited admixture, reduction of tribal population sizes and retention of their original languages, thus explaining why Dravidian lan-guages survived the spread of Indo-European languages in
south India."] European Journal of Human Genetics (2003)

-Are you talking about Korean-Americans?"

Koreans in general are marrying outside their "race" and its a trend that is increasing over time. There will be a point when a sizeable population in Korea is of mixed-race and they will merge with the original Korean population completely.

confused.gif According to the CIA World Factbook, the ethnic groups in Korea are homogenous aside from about 20,000 Chinese who reside there.

http://www.cia.gov/cia/publications/factbo.../ks.html#People

Inter-racial couples in South Korea (let alone North Korea) are virtually non-existent due to the general lack of foreigners and the social stigmas attached to it.

Korean girls might date some American soldiers who are stationed there but I have never heard of or seen one marriage as a result.

Please provide some statistics or articles to illuminate the point you're trying to make there because right now it's not making any sense to me.

"Korean girls might date some American soldiers who are stationed there but I have never heard of or seen one marriage as a result.

Please provide some statistics or articles to illuminate the point you're trying to make there because right now it's not making any sense to me."

http://english.chosun.com/w21data/html/new...0501170039.html

Of all foreigners, Japanese make the most popular husbands for Korean women, data published Monday show. The Ministry of Health and Welfare said 6,444 Korean women married foreign men in 2003, up 31.6 percent from 4,896 in 2002.
It quoted data from the National Statistical Office showing that 2,613 Japanese men married Korean women, followed by Americans (1,237), Chinese (1,199), Canadians (223), Bangladeshis (158), Pakistanis (130), Australians (108) and Germans (93). An increase in the number of South Asian workers in Korea is reflected in the fact that Bangladeshis and Pakistanis take fifth and sixth place.

*cough*Indian genes in Koreans*cough*

The ministry said that of 160,000 Korean people who married foreigners since 1990, 50,000 were women, and they married 26,162 Japanese husbands, 13,174 Americans and 1,471 Chinese.

Half of the women who married foreigners had been married before. In 2003, 3,637 Korean women were married to foreign husbands in their first marriage, while 2,674 Korean women took foreign men as their second husbands. But of 1,199 Korean women who married Chinese men, 811 had been married before, whereas some 76.3 percent of Korean women who wed Americans had never been married before.

Women from big cities like Seoul (1920), Gyeonggi Province (1204) and Busan (440) were more likely to marry foreign men than women in less developed areas.

Korean men, for their part, married 13,373 Chinese, 1,403 Vietnamese, 1,242 Japanese and 944 Filipino women, with Western women barely getting a look in.

----

This doesnt seem like a lot compared to Western numbers, but add the amount of Koreans who are already mix and go back to Korea. This is just the start by the way, more immigration into Korea and a changing society will increase the amount twofold.

That is why we should kick those immigrants out of the land. These hybreeds are the main reason for intermarriage.
