Soup- Hot pott (forgot what you call it, where you put the pott in the middle and you put the meat and veggis in, ya know what i mean)he...he... Don't know how to spell it sorry icon_confused.gif . And i am so good in making Papaya Salad i like mine really spicy bawling.gif with beef-stick, love to eat that in summer time. and many more can't name them all.

My favorite khmer food of all time is Nam (springroll) the khmer way. I can eat that all day. love2.gif

That a funny thing to say cause a lot of Thai culture origninated from Khmer but you don't see them saying that.
Aawww Asian Food are the best, hehhe but everyone has different taste so what your favorite kind of foods? I like Asian and Italian the most, but I don't like Mexican foods, to me it taste the same but Chulapas are good.

it very easy to make papaya salad. I don't really like to add alot of MSG on my food. it taste weird(just alittle bit). you can learn how to make papaya salad too. I learn how to make food by my parent, get me a cook book and from the cooking channel(i love the show) love2.gif

Actually Spring Roll is called Nain in Khmer. And as for Baing Chhow, its that yellowish powdery pancake-like stuffed with beansprout, chicken, and lettace; also could be sauced over vinegar sauce with nuts.

And as for "Chhow"..I don't mean to refer the one that means raw. If it were to be spelled in Khmer, the spelling and the meaning would be different.

I don't know there a lot of different kinds and some are the same as Vietnamese, Chinese, Thai, Indian, etc. but probably have different stuff and species.
Like for an example I don't think we use a of MSG, and unlike the Thai it not as spicy. But then again I can't really say this because everyone has their own style of cooking, while others like it spicy and hot , other like it sweet.
What I read from a book is that a typical meal for Khmer is fishes and rices.
But I think it only poor families that lived by the river and it easy to get.
one of my favorite meal is Salaw MuChoo and I seen Vietnamese eat it, but it different. It sour and it has bean spouts, srimps, this plant that make it sour and other veggie. Oh yea noodle is originated from China but Viet has Pho and KHmer have Kadew and that also depend who makes it.
