Hi EVERYONE,
So a while back, during summer of 2005, I’ve said that I will be willing to teach people how to read and write in Hmong, so here I am with my audio clips to teach you gals and guys. It took me quite a long time to do so because I have other things to take care of. Anyhow, the file below consists of audio clips of what makes a word, audio sentences, word phrases, and audio files of songs, and documents containing instructions and blah blah blah...so I hope this will help those that are interested in learning how to read and write in Hmong...even so, if yall don't use my materials...I wouldn't consider it a waste of time biggrin.gif

I uploaded the file with RAPIDSHARE and MEGAUPLOAD...because some like rapidshare better than megaupload and vice versa.

When you open the file please click on the document "INRODUCTION" first before you do anything else...and that'll be all.

biggrin.gif well...it was only easy...if it wasn't easy at all i was not sure if i would be as devoted laugh.gif just kidding...even if it was hard, i'd still do it...i did it because i just don't want the younger generation or those who wants to learn how to read and write to lack knowledge in writing/reading in hmong...although the RPA writing system is not the original hmong writing system but still...and later on when i have the time to...i'll post up some more stuff on like how to consruct sentences by using classifiers and stuff...but yeah...not yet...i don't have materials for those stuff yet...but i think if i'm doing this...i might as well go teach laugh.gif

It aint the "original" but it is the Hmong writing...designed by the Hmong Yang dude...that Chao Fa use... biggthumpup.gif

I wanted to learn it...but I don't know RPA Hmong that well either..I can just read it..I can't write it that good... embarassedlaugh.gif Most books/places taht teach you Powow Hmong, you gotta know RPA first....

Pawahahahwhwah or something

ahahahahaha...well ok...ahahaha i said "original" because yeah...i just want to say that it's the most original hmong writing system embarassedlaugh.gif but yeah...it looks complicated though...but i would not mind learning it unless someone teaches me visually because i'm a visual learner...but yeah...i know what you're trying to say...it's something like that...ahaha...alls i know is that it has these letters: p,a,w,h, laugh.gif

Can anyone show me what the "powwow" hmong writing looks like? I've never heard of it.

Edit - Nevermind because I found it. It's spelled: Pahawh.

come on my hmong brothers n sisters..hmong writing is very very simple, probably the simplest you will ever know! there is no past tense, plural, etc things in the hmong language as there is in english. i know most kids, like i used to be, probably only know how to write "kuv hlub koj"..i mean we can do better than that!

kav tsij rau siab kawm ntawv hmoob es thiaj li pab tau yus tus kheej. tsis tas li ntawv los yuav tsum hais twj ywm lus hmoob thiab, es yus thiaj li tsis poob yus cov lus. kuv yeej paub tias niaj hnub niam nod peb cov tub hluas ntxhais hmoob yeej hais ib kuag lus mekas thiab ib kuag lus hmoob tabsis yus yuav tsum nco ntsoov hais tias yus txhob muab yus cov lus hmoob tso pov tseg. yog yus keej hais lus mekas los yeej meem hais kom tau zoo tab sis mas lus hmoob yog qhov ua tseem ceeb tshaj plaws.

yog thaum twg koj hais tsis tau lus hmoob lawm, koj puas tseem xav hais tias koj yog hmoob lawm?

ultimately we have to be good in BOTH languages of hmong and english because they will BOTH benefit us.
