This is a thread for people who are trying to lose/maintain weight or are trying to eat a healthy diet.
Today I ate: breakfast: I just had coffee and a few wheat crackers. I dont have much of an appetite in the morning. lunch: A turkey wrap. Used a low-carb, low-fat tortilla wrap (around 80 calories) 6 slices of deli turkey (around 100 grams) lettuce tomatoes spray on honey mustard dressing I also had a 100 calorie oreo cake snack pack. and peach green tea to drink. Snack: Steamed asparagus Dinner: Plain non-fat yogurt sweetened with stevia (1 cup of yogurt) mixed in some fresh raspberries. (about 1/3 of a cup) Froze it in the freezer. It was a delicious frozen treat. I usually don't eat too much, but I am always full after every meal. Right now I just ate that yogurt meal a couple of hours ago and I am still feeling very full! Share the food you had today, looking forward to some inspirations |

Breakfast was 1/2 cup or so of rice, an egg and 2% cheese mixed together.
Lunch was a Lean Cuisine stuffed cabbage and mashed potatoes. Snack was a 100 calorie bag of popcorn and a few wasabi peas. Dinner is going to be a glass of wine and salmon, avacado and cucumber sushi I am going to make after my rice finishes draining. |

Alexa
I wouldnt call your diet healthy. I actually think in the long run it will be detrimental. You need to be eating allot more than that. You are eating 90% carbs and 10 % protein. You body is probably feeding off of your muscles instead of fat. Do you really think you can eat like this forever? Your metabolism is probably shot down to a point where a cheat day will make you blimp up. Are you working out? How often and what exercises? What is your height, age and ideal weight goal? Im sorry if Im sounding like a @$$hole, im just really concerned. |

You won't feed off your muscles unless you starve. and she isn't eating pure carbs and protein. didn't you know Caesar dressing and cheese have lipids? It's alright to eat mainly carbs and protein, as long as you get enough energy to burn. |

It's alright to eat mainly carbs and protein, as long as you get enough energy to burn. Are you serious or joking? You dont think shes starving her self? Your body goes catabolic once a severe calorie deficient happens. When you goto sleep and wake up, you starved yourself since your last meal. In her case since she eats practically nothing for breakfast she is definitely in a catabolic state until her next real meal. Which is lunch. A very weak lunch. 1 4 oz chicken breast and salad with dressing? 4 oz Chicken breast has 120 calories with 20 grams of protein, no carbs, no fat. All the rest of is about 100 more calories assorted with very low carbs, fats, and other nutritents. IF you add up her total daily calories shes eating way below 1000 calories. Thats anorexic, it doesnt matter how many "lipids" there are. That is a strait eating disorder diet. And you condoning because casear dressing and cheese have "lipids" shows that you have no clue when it comes to nutrition. Shes destroying her metabolism and this diet will back fire on her and make her obese in the future. |

She gave an example a whole day's meal, not a 365 day schedule. So you can't assume that she's anorexic just by looking at what she ate for one day. |

So you can't assume that she's anorexic just by looking at what she ate for one day. Oh it is bro. Judging by the posts she made Ive counted up her calorie intake. Which averages around 600-800. Thats clear cut case of an eating disorder. QUOTE Today I ate: breakfast: I just had coffee and a few wheat crackers. I dont have much of an appetite in the morning. 50-60 calories lunch: A turkey wrap. Used a low-carb, low-fat tortilla wrap (around 80 calories) 6 slices of deli turkey (around 100 grams) lettuce tomatoes spray on honey mustard dressing I also had a 100 calorie oreo cake snack pack. and peach green tea to drink. 300 calories Snack: Steamed asparagus 60 calories Dinner: Plain non-fat yogurt sweetened with stevia (1 cup of yogurt) mixed in some fresh raspberries. (about 1/3 of a cup) Froze it in the freezer. It was a delicious frozen treat. ... yogurt for dinner and this is blowing it out of proportion? 175 calories I usually don't eat too much, but I am always full after every meal. Right now I just ate that yogurt meal a couple of hours ago and I am still feeling very full! Share the food you had today, looking forward to some inspirations 595 calories... QUOTE Breakfast - One green apple 70-80 calories. 25 grams of carbs Green tea Lunch: Made a salad consisting of grilled chicken (100 grams) caesar dressing, almonds, diced tomatoes, and bit of grated lowfat cheese (cheddar.) I used my homemade low cal garlic parmesan italian dressing, just a bit of it goes a long way! Handful of fresh strawberries. peach green tea drink. 200-300 calories Snack: 100 calorie cheese n!p bag. Water (I drink a lot of water!) Dinner: Grilled salmon stuffed with tomatoes and basil Covered the salmon in lemon juice and put a bit of lemon-pepper seasoning on top. Cooked it with mushrooms and white onions. Side of steamed asparagus with a bit of butter, garlic, salt and pepper. Drank it with a homemade lemonade. 4 oz salmon filet is about 190 calories. assorted vegatables add up another 50. Dessert: Frozen yogurt with mandarin oranges 100-120 calories. 840 calories... The basic metabolic rate is a measurement of how many calories you burn when you just sit on your @$$ and do nothing. I cant estimate hers because I dont know her age, weight, height and activity level. But everyone is way over 1200 calories. Hers is amplified more because of the caffeine intake she ingesting. Especially green tea which has a fat burning stimulant. My girl friend whos 5'2 100lbs has to eat 1800 calories just to maintain her weight. If she wanted to lose weight safely and healthy she would have to eat 1500-1700 calories. Im not blowing this out of proportion. This is a clear cut case of an eating disorder thats being branded as "healthy eating". Even if this is how she eats 2 days out of the week, that is just as bad if not worse than eating like this everyday. Her weight gain must be out of control if its like that. Im not attacking her im just calling this how it is. Me being here and stating the obvious is doing everyone else good. What if some girl read this and tried to follow it? Im pretty sure Alexa is cool person because your sticking up for her because you think im attacking her. But dude, she needs help. And im obligated as an Asian member here to make sure some Asian girls dont try to follow this routine. |

She might not eat like this everyday is what I'm saying.
Which is maybe why she made this thread in the first place, because her diet in those two days were so peculiar to what she normally eats. And the examples that she gave for those two days is not sufficient evidence to label her as having an eating disorder. This post has been edited by Dante: Jun 19 2009, 09:27 PM |

And what Im saying is you dont have to eat like this everyday to have an eating disorder.
Thread is titled "The Dieters/Healthy eaters thread", she states that this thread is for people trying to maintain or lose weight. She then lists a dangerously calorie deficient diet. That is more than sufficient evidence for me to conclude that she has or is on the way to having a severe eating disorder. Im in this thread soley to make sure no one follows this diet, because of how hazardous it is. 600-800 calories a day is how to look like a skeleton. Theres nothing healthy about it. For arguments sake, since you're making this discussion into some type of defense case for her. She might not have a full blown eating disorder. But shes WELL on her way to. And this is far from healthy eating. |

I didn't eat much today.
I ate a small pasta/veggie thingy. Then went to Judo for an hour and a half. Then drank a protein shake. Then ate some California roll sushi. It was like 10 peices but probably only 250-300 calories total. Drank some Juicy Juice lol. Probably about 900-1000 calories consumed so far. But then I probably burned like 500 calories or more in Judo HAHA. Eating this way is okay, I've dropped 10lbs so far in a little over a month. but I really need to go back into Raw Food diet. That $hit is the bomb for you. This post has been edited by lilasiankid: Jun 20 2009, 12:41 PM |

This is what I already ate and will be eating today.
Breakfast/Pre work out 1/2 cup oatmeal + 1/2 cup of cheerios + 2 scoops whey blended tip (pre blend the oats and cheerios together, tastes way better and is more consistent.) weights Snack/ post work out 1 cup skim milk, 2 scoops whey, 1 medium banana blended Lunch can of tuna, 1 tbs of dijon mustard, 1 tbs light mayo on whole grain bread Snack 2 scoops whey + water Dinner 4-6 oz Top sirloin steak with steamed frozen veggies Cardio or MMA/Kickboxing depending on what day. Post work out/ Pre bed snack 2 scoop whey, 2 table spoon of organic peanut butter, ice blended. Thats 2400 calories, 300 calories deficient from my maintenance. With this routine I was able to reduce my bf from 28% to 13% in 3 1/2 months. My metabolism is a monster right now, I can eat practically anything I want and not gain anything. I still eat all the foods I love just not as much. Once I hit 7-8% bf I plan on increasing my calorie intake by 25% and hitting weights harder. Then do another cut. Then do maintenance. I get a better work out and more sharper through out the day when I eat. Dropping weight hella fast will just mean gaining it back the same speed and if your losing more than 2 lbs a week then anything over is muscle. Which means your weaker. The goal is to burn fat and maintain muscle. The fact is people cant live on this scarce @$$ diets forever. There setting themselves up for failure. They see themselves dropping weight fast and think there doing a good job. But they will gain it back and in most cases gain more. Its better to do it the slow and long term way. Just saying... I dunno, it's got to be a bit more than 250. We spend about 45 minutes just doing exercises. Then the rest is randori. Pretty sweaty and metabo in high gear. Walking at 4 mph for 1 hour is 700 calories. Thats with no incline. Use that to estimate how many calories your burning when you do your training. |
