------------
Problem A:

As a Chinese dude myself, I thought that Taiwan independence was ROC/KMT declaring themselves an independent China.

Since Taiwan = ROC/KMT, I thought 'Taiwan Independence' meant 'ROC/KMT independence' from China.

Someone help me here!

------------

Problem B:
Quote from Wiki:

"Taiwan independence is a political movement whose goal is primarily to create an independent and sovereign Republic of Taiwan out of the lands currently governed by the Republic of China (ROC) (commonly known as "Taiwan") and claimed by the People's Republic of China (PRC). (from WIKI)"

My question is:

Republic of Taiwan (ROT) is formed out of the lands currently governed by KMT.

Why doesn't the ROC army just crush this BAD gov't that tries to attempt to seize power from the ROC/KMT regime?

ROC army isn't going to stand by while her own political party is overthrown and declared a separate nation. Plus, better war with ROT than PRC if ROT is going to declare independence.

So, bring out the tanks, kill the protesters, squelch dissent, shoot the people who disagree? Sorry buddy. Democracy doesn't work like that.

Considering this army is manned by Taiwanese, I wonder who would be the victims if such atrocity ever happens.
ELITE is the most clueless oversea Chinese nationalist I've ever seen. I can talk to the blood-spilled red Chinese Commie(like those in China), because they make sense and are straightforward. But some oversea Chinese nationalists like to play both China and Taiwan as if we were digital bits in a SimCity.

So I am assuming if a Pro-Independence party takes hold in ROC, the ROC army invariably must support the new party regardless of the verbal threats of a PLA invasion correct?

Declaring independence is suicidal, I am not sure why the ROC army would obey a newly elected party that supports such an action.

Where've you been the past 10 years? This is exactly what the ROC military did during Chen Shui Bian's 8 years in office - it continued to support the defense of the island as a whole, regardless of which part (DPP/KMT) was in power.

Please. Stop your trolling.

I do not follow Taiwanese affairs and neither do the vast majority of Chinese people.

So my question is valid. Why would ROC army support a pro-independence party - knowing full well that it will provoke war.

DDP would be setting the ROC army up for an @$$ whopping. Unnecessary given the status quo is mutually benefitial for both partie.s

The DPP was in power from 2000 to 2008.

War didn't happen.

And neither did a ROC military overthrow of the DPP government.

Why don't you just accept the facts for once?

This is the first you presented the facts.

In response to your question, after seeing the facts, I will agree with your evidence.
