Bring Indian muslims into the mainstream Options

Education is what is needed first and foremost to bring the Muslims into the mainstream society. However, I could not understand your proposition of 10% reservation for Muslims in the schools, because I am not familiar with the Indian education system. You are proposing this quota for enrollment of students or employment of teachers. Employment can be understood, but not the enrollment. I think, India should have a compulsory education system, so that all the children of soil go to school.

It is essential that the Indian Muslims get rid of polygamy. In Bangladesh it is done in a different way. Since a direct ban will anger the ignorant and stupid Mullahs, therefore, our government laws say that the 1st wife must give consent in writing in the presence of a Magistrate for her husband to take another wife. For a 3rd wife, signatures from both the present wives are needed. There are abuses of this law by some, but it has created consciousness among the population, and polygamy has become almost non-existent.

Not being a predominantly Muslim country, it may be a little difficult to implement anti-polygamy laws in India. Muslims will think they are being persecuted. So, I believe only secular education and a long term planning with the approval of all the main political Parties can bring about the change. However, India cannot afford to wait long, a 15 crore uneducated Muslims with so many social ills will remain a burden to the Indian society. Therefore, the Muslim Personal Laws should be revised to suit the present day.

If thats the case than Moslems shouldn't be allowed. Because they are sons of rape.

India should try to bring muslims more and more into the mainstream. Indian muslims are poorer than other groups and most of them are in small businesses and also at a lower level of literacy.

India should make a concerted effort to bring them more into the mainstream.

- Make mandatory reservation of 10% for muslims in all educational institutions. We are currently making reservations of scheduled castes and tribes. A reservation for muslims makes more sense. This will ensure that muslim youth get good education and become more liberal and secular.

- Make mandatory reservation of 10% for muslims for jobs in all public companies, BPOs and government departments. This will start giving more employment to the youth and make them less likely to get into trouble.

- Banish the muslim personal law and make a uniform civil code across all Indians by banning polygamy and giving women equal rights to alimony. This law was passed in 1985 but Rajiv Gandhi angled for the muslim vote and got it banned. This will give muslim women (who are the most marginalized lot) more equality and a chance to make their life.

Over time, this will reduce religous tensions in India.

Religious tensions wont reduce until you separate your religion and country from each other.It should be Indian first not Hindu,Muslim........Reservation is another way of dividing people !

True but when the majority/some group of people who is strong in the society becomes greedy to suppress others then reservation is unavoidable.

My suggestion would be, Indian Muslims should look at SEA Muslims for their literacy, development and generous and should not appreciate Pakis Taliban-ism which is against humanity and not workable for the modern society.

Religious laws are created by the greedy Religious God Men to have control and their own beneficial. People should not be giving much importance to the law created by such greedy Religious people for their own benefit to gain power and authority.
