his chinese name is 王立军, search him up on baidu.com
PS: also search for wanglijun on weibo.com, you get some interesting tweets. He's not very bright for going to a embassy, should've head down to Hong Kong, much better choice. This post has been edited by MiCC: Feb 9 2012, 01:20 AM |

叛逃美領館 重慶副市長遭拘押 2012.02.09 - apparently he shouted something as he was taken into custody outside the US embassy.

a mongolian chinese, interesting ya, he's ethnic Mongolian and also a hero cop. he's a very powerful man I wonder what exactly happened, I can see on the internet many supports to him from the general population. All it appears to me so far is that sceptically there's plot behind the reformation progress. |

wang li jun is a very popular political leader, loved by the locals. together with bo xilai, they basically got rid of much of the corruption in chongqing that is so prevalent across china.
but, they made a lot of enemies when combating corruption, hurting the interest of many powerful people, including many high level officials. according to reports and online rumors, they were targeted, and divided by enemies of bo. bo xilai decided it is in his best interest to cut wang li jun loose. wang, without backing from bo, felt helpless and betrayed, fled to the US consulate. quite a pity. both bo and wang are a very able person and liked by the people. http://www.zznews.gov.cn/news/2012/0216/article_51376.html This post has been edited by lite: Feb 15 2012, 09:11 PM |

If he gets taken out corruption will thrive and rise. When the president/top officials in Beijing heard about this shouldn't they interfere and protect wang/his job? This is big news. Thats a stupid thing to do, I would feel betrayed, too. If he gets taken out corruption will thrive and rise. When the president/top officials in Beijing heard about this shouldn't they interfere and protect wang/his job? This is big news. many top officials' interests were hurt during bo and wang's "anti-corruption and anti-triads" campaign. they want revenge and get rid of bo and wang. they were digging up dirt on wang and bo and trying to bring them down before wang's flee to US consulate. both wang and bo probably are not squeaky clean. but comparing to the vast majority, they are saints. because bo was involved in suppressing falungong cult, now falungong members overseas are loving this, laughing and jumping in joys and hoping to see a downfall of china.
