I was doing some research on World War II and I stumbled across this site. I read it, and saw the pictures and I have to say I am very disturbed. I only share this because I want to know the integrity of the information on this site.

I know of this event ever since I can remember, but it's the pictures that really make me sick. Words cannot describe how I feel when I see those pictures. However, I cannot blame the generation of Japanese people after WWII. Another point is that, it's amazing how many people are ignorant toward this subject. When you ask them about Holocaust they will show signs of agreement but when you ask them about this they have no idea what your talking about. Precisely the reason why many people feel the Jews overrate the Holocaust when incidents much worse in many countries go unheard of.

But then again, it is the pictures that we SHOULD be showing everyone. Seeing a picture of the atrocity is much different than reading about it. If people can see the picture, like how I have promoted it on the link in my sig, I leaves a deeper impact.

oh trust,
i am trying to learn as much as i can.
im not you typical foreigner who just likes anime and martial arts.
I find that the broad scope of Asian history and culture is amazing and VERY beautiful.
it is so intruiging to me and i just love to actually LEARN as much as i can so i can educate my children and i have them pass that knowledge on.

I am shocked at the heinous level of atrocities commited.

Believe me, i dont particularly blink when someones "race" has been through a situation unless they are Native Indian or Black, but this i had no idea,

and I am VERY shaken up by it. the pictures from one of the links tongbao posted on his site has close large photos of things i never knew a human (in this day and age) should ever THINK.

This stuff happens quite often in war... it's cruel and unnecessary but we should still know about what happens in situations like this.

The only way that awareness of Japanese war time atrocities against its Asian neighbors can be promoted is if we personally tell other people. The Nanjing Massacre, atrocities in Vietnam, Comfort women of Taiwan/Korea and enslavement of US GI's is not going to be in US history textbooks. We have to take it upon ourselves to teach history to each other. I would have never expected the peaceful, modern Japan I had grown up with to have such a dark side until my father personally told me stories of atrocities committed by Japanese against my relatives.
