Selepas meloloskan diri, pembantu rumah itu ditemui dalam keadaan tidak bermaya oleh orang awam di tepi jalan di Kampung Melayu, Ampang di sini. Dia dibawa ke Kedutaan Indonesia sebelum membuat laporan di balai polis dan menjalani pemeriksaan dan rawatan di Hospital Ampang. Menurut sumber, berdasarkan laporan polis, pembantu rumah terbabit mendakwa disimbah air panas, dipukul dan diperlakukan seperti haiwan apabila kaki dan tangannya diikat sebelum digantung di kipas siling oleh majikannya. “Amah terbabit yang ditemani pihak kedutaan dibawa ke Hospital Ampang. Selepas menerima rawatan selama dua hari di hospital, dia kini tinggal bersama pihak kedutaan,” katanya ketika dihubungi, semalam. Katanya, majikan terbabit melarikan diri bersama ahli keluarganya selepas menyedari kehilangan pembantu rumah itu kerana bimbang ditahan polis. Sementara itu, Timbalan Ketua Polis Daerah Ampang Jaya, Superintendan Amiruddin Jamaluddin ketika dihubungi mengesahkan menerima laporan berhubung kejadian itu. “Polis masih mencari majikan terbabit bagi membantu siasatan,” katanya. Kejadian pembantu rumah didera sering dilaporkan akhbar ini, antaranya pada 17 Jun lalu mengenai kes seorang amah dirantai pada kandang kucing untuk mengelak melarikan diri. Dia yang baru sebulan bekerja dengan keluarga majikannya dijadikan hamba seks untuk memuaskan nafsu lelaki ada kaitan dengan majikannya. (Petikan Harian Metro) A grim outlook for us Malaysians. I think i've heard worse of people who went berserk(mengamuk) for no reason. Scary~ Perhaps not only maids in Malaysia need to go for training, the employer also need to undergo training on how to treat a human too. Sad fact... *wait* my maid is disturbing me typing, gotta go smack her @$$ first. rawr~ |

Our judicial system have punished more errant employers, others getting more than 30 years imprisonment & 20 whippings for their crimes against the maids. Bad employers are everywhere, even in Indonesia. |

Nope I think he's basically saying that just because there is apparently 'no further action by your police', it doesn't mean that it's 'because she is Indonesian' (quoting firdausj). If it's because she's Indonesian the Nirmala case would not exist. Moreover firdausj is known to be very spiteful against Malaysia regardless, but that's just the way some people are.  OT, I am aghast at this news, eventhough it was quite the other way round when we had an Indonesian maid... glad my parents let her off. I say, both the employers and the maids need to learn some manners... |

I feel sorry for that amah. Even though she was from Indon, I really feel that she deserved a justice.
I heard Yiming threat her amah in more humiliated way. |

Lest you think no once bothers firdausj, many Malaysians are aware of what's happening in the country. It'd be great when the day comes that Indonesia would be able to offer adequate good quality employment to its lower-skilled citizens so that some won't need to go abroad including Malaysia, in the way that some Johoreans would not need to go to Singapore. We're all in this together. Maid in Malaysia Some of things said by interviewees in this documentary are very disappointing indeed. |

maybe this can be stopped if there's a law that require every indonesian maids to report themselves to Indonesian liason office every month. every states in malaysia can have several of this offices disperse throughout the state. The problem is, a lot of this maids are illegals. Malaysian authorities know nothing of their existence and thus they are virtually outside the protection of the law.
to yiming. for racist sake, many of this employees that abuse their maids are Chinese. so your "Ketuanan Melayu" theory doesn't really hold here. |
