Indians burn Australian flag in protest after Sydney fashion show models wears swimsuit bearing Hindu goddess

Australian swimwear label Lisa Blue sent its models down the catwalk at Rosemount Australian Fashion Week in Sydney last week, sporting bright swimsuits which had pictures of revered Lakshmi on them.
But when news of the show reached India Hindus - who consider her to be the goddess of wealth, prosperity and fertility - were incensed at the deity's image being used in such a sexy way.

Dirty immoral caucasions have no value/fear of god or have any culture! Being printed on the front was bad enough, but on the rear too? That is taking waayy over the top. I don't blame the Hindus at all for burning the flag because I feel the same here.

While I understand some Hindus might be angry (Im a Hindu) im actually glad that we did not make a huge issue out of this...we dont make a big issue out of any similar incident cos our culture is too refined to get worked up over the actions of the uncultured. (btw before someone lectures me about broad brush comments, uncultured in thsi context refers to the ones who designed such clothes). Such actions which intentional insult others(lest it be races, countries or religions) are only possible y people of bad upbringing. No civilized people would stoop to such a low level as these fashion designers have done. I applaud the Hindus for keeping their cool and showing these people , yet again that the best way to insult people like these is to ignore them as they are beneath our notice.

Actually Maoris are natives of New Zealand not Australia.

So? Australia pretty much considers New Zealand part of their country anyway. And England considers Australia theirs as well. Aboriginals and Maori's are of the same race btw - like Tibetans and Chinese

No, dude....Australian Aborigines and Maori are NOT of the same race. They are light years apart genetically, culturally and linguistically. They are as distantly related to each other as the English are to the Mayans.

In fact, Maoris have a lot more in common with the indigenous peoples of the Indonesian archipelago and the Philipppines since their languages belong to the same branch (Malayo-Polynesian) of the Austronesian language family.

You mean PINK people? I call them Caucasian/Westerners/English/Pink people. Because true white is the colour of milk/chalk white.

Actually most East Asian women such as Japanese or Koreans are more "milk skinned" than these pink/peachy skinned rednecks.
