There is also a risk that it may cause permanent blindness due to deprivation of blood flowing into the back of the eye socket. THAT REALLY SCARED THE CRAP OUT OF ME!! I WANT TO PUKE RIGHT NOW.......OMG.......I wonder how ayu and BoA and other asian celebrities managed to do it......its so....risky...and..gross.............but I do like the outcome embarassedlaugh.gif

by the way, is there anybody here that had this surgery?? please tell me about it! biggrin.gif

Even If I were to have single eye lids I wouldn't change it. There nothing wrong with single eyelids and I couldn't image my b/f with big eyeslids like me and I don't want it to happen.

^You do have nice eyelids. You're very pretty! And not because you have big eyes.

I have pseudo lids. That means there's a crease, but it's covered by excess skin.

I've considered getting surgery to remove the skin for medical reasons. My lids are forcing my lashes to gradually curve downwards into my eyes. icon_neutral.gif

I hear so many Asian girls/women undergoing eyelid surgery because they say they want to look "prettier," and that it's easier to apply make-up.
However, what about having surgery out of medical necessity i.e. vision impairment?

my older sister went through the same thing. she got surgery on her bottom lids first (uncommon) cause her lashes were scratching her actual eye lenses. a few years later, when we went to korea she had the top ones done because she couldnt get contacts in because her lashes pointed downward. i have single, and my lashes point downward too, but i dont have any medical problems with them, just more annoying when i try to curl my lashes or wear eye makeup.

i wonder if they have surgery for single eyelids...

you know. to make a double into a single.
i bet once china becomes an economic power, people will want to imitate the chinese again,

then, single eyelids may become popular! and the whole role will reverse.

imagine all those people who had surgery before to look one way, needing surgery to get back to their old form.

To be honest, I want to have double eyelids. Don't know if I want to actually DO it tho. First of all, I dont' know how I'll react to my face when I wake up every morning and see the mirror and think that this face doesn't belong to me.. second of all, I think its good to stay natural, even if you're ugly, and last of all, I'm so not into the whole consequences thing. I dont' want the eyelid to droop when I get older.

dont waste your money on that stuff, I got double eyelids by simply raking my fingernail over my eyelids a few times. no damage at all, and they stay in.

I am double lidded but my eyes can come out of its crease sometimes and it looks a bit odd. The double lid thing does make a huge difference to appearance and being able to apply makeup. It annoys me a bit when people who have double lids, go on about how the surgery is stupid etc (fair enough people have thier own opinions) when they themselves havent had single lids before. Dont get me wrong, I do like single lids but for MY face I look better with double lids (which is what i mainly have) because I dont have a nice nose/face structure so I just try make the best with my eyes. I do admire beautiful people with single eyelids though, like blisskiss as she has a really nice nose, full lips and pretty face in general which makes her unique looking.
