post your BEST! asian recipe here!
Mines? Would probably be a few dishes.. but ill post one of my favourites!!! Steammed fish. a good trick in steaming fish to perfection is to have it sit in a river of sauces containing waterd down soy sauce, green onions, ginger, and slices of chinese ham. As the fish steams.... itll absorb the soysauce flavours. since the soyasuce is watered down the chinese ham will rejuvenate teh dish with a burst of smoky flavour! the ginger, green onion, and parsley will help kill off some of the strong fishy smells associated with steamed fish. This is also a low fat dish packed with protien! you can enjoy this on the dinner table along with other dishes including the traditional pot of rice =D |

Add about five cups of water to the pot. At this time, you can add one potato or white radish. Then add cilantro, two green onions, and 1/4 bunch of spinach. 4. When the soup is boiling, start to put in the noodles, and let them boil for a bit longer. =============== Note: Usually, I leave out the onion, garlic, and green onion, since true Chinese vegetarian cuisine lacks those ingredients. |

here's my recipe/ I do almos the same thing except i boil the oxtail for hours. i'll add the "oxtail kare-kare" later.
MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master v8.05 Title: Oxtail Soup Categories: Yield: 1 Servings 3 tb Drippings 2 Oxtails 1 lg Onion; diced 1 Carrot; diced 2 qt Cold water 2 Stalks celery 2 Sprigs parsley 1 Bay leaf 2 tb Pearl barley 1 tb Flour -=IN=- 2 tb Water Salt and pepper Melt fat; fry oxtails (or beef tails), onion and carrot until brown; add water or stock. Tie the celery, parsley and bay leaf together; add to soup. Bring to a boil, add barley and simmer 4 hours. Remove large bones and bouquet garni; thicken soup with flour paste. Season rather highly and serve. |

Fried rice! It's not like most fried rice...it's all in what you put into it, and the steps you take!
What you need: Rice...of course (preferably all ready steamed) Green peppers (freshly picked from garden and sliced) Potatoes (shredded) Onions (shredded) Carrots (sliced into squares) Eggs (fresh) Sesame seeds Olive Oil Salt Okie...this is what you do. You take a frying pan...and drop in the onions, carrots, potatoes, and pepper. Fry all of em for a bit (not too much...just to get the flavor out). Put in rice. Sprinkle sesame seeds over it. Mix it around a bit...let the juices seap into the rice :-D and then, crack and egg or two and drizzle it over the rice. Mix well. Sprinkle salt once in a while and taste. Enjoy! Puhaha. |

Oxtail Kare-kare
style : Filipino Ingredients: 1 oxtail (3-5 lbs.) 5 Tbsp. Oil 5 cloves garlic, crushed 1 medium sized onion, sliced water from 1/4 cup achuete, soaked (Anatto seeds) 1 banana heart, sliced crosswise 2 bundles Chinese long bean, cut into 2" pieces 4 eggplants, cut into 1/2 inch slices 1/3 cup rice, toasted brown in a pan and ground to a powder 1/2 cup peanut butter salt and pepper to taste Cut oxtail into 3 inch pieces. Boil and discard water. Boil again until tender. Sauté garlic and onion in oil. Add achuete water, sautéed garlic and onions to meat and bring to a boil. Add vegetables and enough water to make a sauce. Add the powdered rice and peanut butter dissolved in 3/4 cup water into the meat.
