Since the defeat of Chiang Kaishek by Mao Zedong forces, he fled to Taiwan and made the Island his teritory. If Taiwan was not part of China, why was there no any uprising against the intruder?

China should be more worried about integrating and justifying the assimilation of Japanese ppl as China's 57 minority group and how Japan was an early proto-Chinese state, rather than obsessing over claims over Chinese province of Taiwan.

China has bigger fishes to fry than friggin' Taiwan.

Fujian province alone can beat Taiwan, does China really need to squander precious state attention on such a feeble little island that LOST the Chinese mainland?

When it happens, China will need to justify her claims to the Japanese archaepelago, and why Japan was forcibly annexed into the Chinese empire. Forget Taiwan, focus on Japan.

Everyone was one day too young. ccp-kmt war was fought between Chinese nationals. So why then wasn't Kaishek rejected as an intruder.

Japan in whole has never been a province of China.

i see that you have no prior understanding of the civil war.

let me tell you this, technically, the war between ccp-led prc and kmt-led roc is not over.

when japan was defeated by usa, all territories they gained, at the time, were giving back to the ROC who was still ruling both china AND taiwan. this is important in distinguishing whether taiwan belongs to ccp-led prc or kmt-led roc.

although, kmt no longer want to claim china, they're still insist on this little territory that is left.

You should understand that it is not a matter of who Taiwan belongs to among ccp-led and kmt led.
The fact is that Taiwan had and has people who speak chinese and almost the same cultural background.
It is the US who financed and supported Chiang to detach from China.

Yeah, Republic of China governs Taiwan.

If anything, Taiwan is Nationalist China, not Red China.

for someone who is not chinese nor taiwanese, to have in an interest in this kind of civil war...is very fishy.

unmask yourself, then we can talk.

lol, not quite a reason since they are still under the protection of the great americans, not to mention they had decades of time before during which mainland china was not even capable to execute "military aggression".

not many will agree with you that americans are great, or that americans will protect taiwan in eminent war.

the 2nd part of your statement is partially true. the other reasons include the white terror. however fear of war is still the main reason.

China could have managed a military execution but first wanted to keep her house in order the keep the kitchen the same.
