and quite famously, the WBC Flyweight title to Erik Morales. Granted, Manny was a different fighter back then. neither in your skewed understanding or the general understanding of "retiring undefeated" will Mannny retire undefeated. lol! you start hammering on that guy who apologised yet you say manny fought and loss to morales, defending the WBC flyweight title! |

I like grappling better than sloppy striking. You guys are just part of the ignorant masses. You don't know an omoplata from an arm triangle or the subtleties of half-guard.

A good submission is good as a KO.. Ask Rumina Sato.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=37RFjrs07oc<<< I believe this here got me into grappling.. At least in boxing hugging is not allowed therefore it is not a gay sport. what do you think happens in a street fight? no rules.... the one difference between UFC PPV and boxing PPV is i rather watch UFC...in boxing, the only fight ppl are interested in is the main event This post has been edited by lorient: Dec 18 2009, 05:29 PM |

What would happen if you get hit with Pacquio's punch without gloves? Pacquio can make a Carabao sleep with one punch.

What would happen if you get hit with Pacquio's punch without gloves? Pacquio can make a Carabao sleep with one punch. he's not the hardest puncher in boxing. bernard hopkins boxed de la hoya cautiously for about 8 rounds. when hopkins went after him, he landed ONE body punch that knocked DLH out and even made him cry.....pacquiao landed power punches on DLH's face repeatedly from round one to round eight?....but never dropped him. its safe to say the hardest punchers in boxing today are heavyweights, either vitali or wladimir kitchsko. pacquiao is a great boxer but he would not survive against top mma fighters....can you imagine bj penn, who fights at 155 vs pacquiao in a street fight?....i'd go with penn because once he puts his hands/grabs onto pacman, the fight is over This post has been edited by lorient: Dec 19 2009, 06:56 PM |

pacquiao is a great boxer but he would not survive against most top 10 mma fighters....can you imagine bj penn, who fights at 155 vs pacquiao in a street fight?....i'd go with penn because once he puts his hands/grabs onto pacman, the fight is over pretty sure pac trains in various bother martial arts as well. we will see wht happens when penn tries to get close to pacquiao to even lay hands on him. we all saw what happened to tim sylvia when he fought a washed up grand pa mercer. knocked out in 9 seconds. it would be cool if a female pulled off an armbar while pretending to be a passive rape victim wtf???? you also have to consider size and strength, bj penn fights at 155 but is much heavier when he's not training...he fought machida a few years ago and weighed somewhere between 185-205 pounds....wouldnt superior size and strength help in a street fight?
and if this was a real life situation, i'd probably have a better chance against pacquiao than penn(this also applies to you and every REGULAR person in the world who arent pro fighters)....penn's striking(punching) probably isnt as good as pacquiao's...but his punches can probably still KO most REGULAR guys. not only that, he has the ability to lift you up 10 feet in the air and slam you on your head, which can result in KO or even death....and if he chooses, he can choke you and not let go, until you're passed out or dead...he can also break one of your limbs.....most regular guys(you and me) can not overpower him/take him down or out strike him....so what do you do??? vs pacquiao, at least we have a better chance(grappling/takedown/ground and pound) This post has been edited by lorient: Dec 18 2009, 09:51 PM |

QUOTE no, you wouldnt even have a chance vs pacquiao or penn. so why bother going into it. its just something guys talk or think about when watching ufc or boxing fights....i know a few guys who say they respect pacquiao's boxing ability but tink they can beat pacquiao in a street fight.. and how they would use their superior size/strength advantage on him and take him to the ground. i honestly believe the average man has a better shot of beating pacquiao than penn. i'm not a big fan of bj penn either because he sounds very cocky and talks a lot of $hit. Pacquiao also knows muay thai and that is a reserve arsenal for him. That is also the reason why his legs are so strong and fast.

I was first a fan of MMA (back in 2000-2001) until I got bored with their sloppy boxing skills and excessive hugging... I would only watch an MMA match if I know they'll be knocking each other out and not rape each other on the ground. The sweet science for me please.
