I used to like hip-hop. Now I can't stand it; it's just too damn boring. Even when I did listen to it, I'd buy the albums for 1 song and not listen to the rest ever.

Its not even original anymore. All they go on about about is drinking, fu-king, money, drugs, killing, women, or how popular they are. Its a bunch of BS and I dont even know why I liked that crap in the first place.

I dont even need to know why they're talking about it. All I have to do is listen to it and I want to turn off the radio. Whether they've had a bad life or just got lucky making lyrics I don't really understand how people can profit off of music like that.
Although I'll admit I do listen to some songs that have a nice beat or melody. Especially some eminem songs but I don't like him all that much. This post has been edited by Jasel: Jul 6 2004, 03:04 PM |

I was at this seminar at school, the guest speaker was.. hmm stan something (I forget) he was black and he mention how the rap/hip hop industry is a shame because they would prefer the person that's been in jail for several years, get into fight, low education rather than a person that's been in college for 10 plus years even if they have they same talent. It's kind of they're getting paid to be bad.
^I didnt write that. |

As everyone knows I dislike hip hop rap except some of Will Smith's later works M.I.B and Wild Wild west I think this is considered rap, but get this the bad words are minimal and it's more respectful than: kill your mother , spank those--- , forget athority, rob your brother, leave your wife ect...
try mini moni's genki it's soooooo fun This post has been edited by running horse: Jul 6 2004, 04:05 PM |

I love hip hop. There are too many artist that I like to name them all but I do understand what many of you guys are saying about the songs degrading women and many of the lyrics are lame but its really the beat that I go for. I don't pay too much attention to the lyrics to most songs that come out now because some of them don't make sense. I listen to the radio mostly but I do have a collection of CDs but only a few since I won't buy a CD unless it has atleast 4 songs on it that I really like.

hehe, i should have made my comment a little clearer. 99% of what's broadcast on commercial radio and *any* mainstream media outlet, regardless of genre, is pure cr4p.
