QUOTE (StephenDedalusFromAsia @ Feb 8 2006, 06:44 PM)
From what I read, the procedure put like a crank into her leg bones, and once a week she had to insert a key into her leg and turn it alittle bit to stretch the bone.  She said it was the most painful experience of her life.

There might be different procedures, but her method sounds cruel.

Do you know where she got it done? In Asia or North America?

Be proud of who u are... Many people in this world aren't as fortunate as u and i are. We are blessed many things we take for granted. Honestly, even if did get the surgery done, i don't think it would make a huge impact on your life. Don't do it...
*

Yeah, you could be right, but I think it'll make a huge impact on my self-esteem. That is, if it's successful. icon_confused.gif I'm definitely waiting a few more years...mabe they'll come up with a major improvement in the method so the risks involved would be minimal.

I'm just being "real" and "true" to myself, and i guess, that's what every other non-gay men on the planet would say as well.

Bone/Leg- Lengthening Risks

-Bleeding
-Infection
-Bone infection
-Injury to blood vessels
-Poor bone healing

Bone lengthening is completely( icon_confused.gif ) successful "only" 40% of the time has a much "higher" rate of complications.

i knew someone who got their leg lengthened, but thats coz her legs were uneven. One was shorter than the other. She had to wear a leg brace for a year i think, and yeah, it worked. After a year her legs were the same length already. Which looked pretty good.

Well I can undestand that someone who has uneven legs wants to undergo the operation.

And yes, what's cool about being a smaller girl is that you can go out with a broader range of guys beerchug.gif No complexes about having a shorter boyfriend lol

I don't see the point for leg lengthening unless you have some form of dwarfism, even then it cripples people. It is not about being short or tall, you just do not like yourself and want to be someone else. Such wishes like yours enforce terrible stereotypes around the world about insecure Asians trying to look "white".

How do they lenthen your legs?! confused.gif Where do they get the extra skin from to cover it all?!

I don't really need longer legs, mine are long enough....but I don't see why girls with short legs would want them done.....short toned legs are sexy too...

Hell no! I read about it some months ago. It sounds so cruel and scary. They break your legs and then implant some metals. It tooks years till full recovery.

High hells are much more cheaper and they cause less pain. icon_smile.gif

Here you go, there's an article about it on TIME Asia

http://www.time.com/time/asia/news/magazin...,187654,00.html

An asian girl had the surgery, saw it on Believe It or Not.
She had it because she was too short to become a stewardess.
An airline company was touched by her story and they were waiting for her to recover so that they could hire her.
After one year, she worked as a stewardess for that airline company.

After I've seen the picture above, I think legs lenghtening makes your legs look unproportional, because it only lenghtens one part of the legs, not whole legs.

That company would be sued if it was in the US. In the West they hire all kind of flight attendants regardless age, weight, height, looks or gender.

i can understand why some ppl are willing to do it though. taller height is a bit of an advantage. Short ppl tend to not be taken seriously, whereas taller ppl do, not juz for males but females too. And most models are tall, lots of taller ppl get noticed, and even if ur a bit chubby and ur tall u dont look as chubby compared to a shorter person. If u compare a tall pretty girl to a short pretty girl, the taller one will probably get more of the attention.
