Sorry I am a bit brain drained from my exams. So I just want to make a quick summary of my readings and hope I got it right.

Firstly, Parameswara's ancestors already settled in Temasek. This means that even before Parameswara fled, the people in Temasek are already the Malays. Then, Majapahit extended its influence and Parameswara fled to Temasek for refuge. Then, this is where the history has two parts. The first is from Sejarah Melayu, where they said the Majapahits followed Parameswara to Temasek and he was betrayed. Hence, he fled to Melaka. This means that no killing of the Temasek ruler was involved. The second accd to Pires is that Temasek belongs to the Siamese and Parameswara killed the Siamese chieftain there. And he got chased out of Temasek by the Siams. However, there may be biasness to Pires' story as Portugese had prejudice towards the Malays whereas had a strong tie with the Siamese then?

biggthumpup.gif That are the 2 versions. Pires is not totally clear it were Siamese or allied to Siam though ( but one of these). Sej. Melayu version mention no killing of official, he was descendant of Malay Singapore rulers. He was attacked there by Majapahit. Sej. Melayu does not tell if Iskandar shah was earlier in Sumatra but some historians and Javanese and Chinese records give idea he was first ruling there and later on in Singapore( probably already familair territory ).
