The fact is, there are tensions between different groups in multi-ethnic China. Do we know why there are tensions? Does the Government? It is the duty of the Government to maintain peace and order in the country, but they must first know the reasons for the tensions and then solve it. Do you know what is causing the tensions between the Hui and the Han? I wasn't aware of any tension between the Hui and Han. This is specifically about Tibetans attacking Han and Hui. There is no real way to solve this because they are extremes. There are definitely ways to ease tensions. Its whether or not the government will take those steps and whether or not they will be effective. And also, communication with the outside world would help to know what's going on there. Oh just f*** off. You find what would universally be considered cult behaviour admnirable only because it is counter PRC interest. You are one disgusting person, along the lines of that hypocrite god-king the Dalai Lama. Self immolation under ANY circumstances should only be condemned. Has it even occurred to you that all cases were by the impressionable young. Monks and nuns that are rarely above their teenage years. When your opinion is not appreciated, try keeping it to yourself. She makes a valid point. Mohamed Bouazizi inspired the Arab Spring. Also, I don't think anyone wants self immolation to be an option including Regina, as she so stated. It's happened other times in history. Some people just get so fed up whether its irrational or not, and just do it. If there was no truth to that, self immolation wouldn't happen. The Chinese government needs to address Tibetan issues in a better way. Period. If they act deaf, the Tibetans are just going to keep doing it. Hopefully Tibetans will listen if the government does try to work things out. |

At this point its one person's word against another. If there's such an information block, how do we know that what's happening to the Han Chinese and Muslim Hui is even true? How do we know whether the Han and Hui are or are not retaliating in full force? The Chinese government is making their own hell. People in China don't even know wtf is going on over there. That is not true if Chinese people don't know what was going on in Tibet. But at least the government did their job to preventing hatred toward Tibetan people. |

Riots are the language of the unheard. When someone is under tremendous stress and inner turmoil has been wearing them thin, they will resort to drastic things. When driven to that point, people will do just about anything. I don't agree with this method; Setting yourself ablaze. It's just awful and it does upset me. The fact that Tibetans feel so helpless like this is the only thing they can do - harm themselves? Sigh. That's really depressing. But...in a way I find it admirable, as weird as that sounds. I find it admirable that they've never stopped fighting and will go this far for the cause. I admire their loyalty and their strength. I just wish they could find new ways to express their suffering to the public. You forget the outside factor too. Give Occupy Wall Street protesters a think tank, support and weapons by other country. It will became USA Civil War 2. There are always many frustration in any society that can be easily provoked to became a large riots and civil war. Even inside US and EU as well. And we all know who they are. But unlike the West, China always prefer peaceful solution and guarantee something like in Libya and Syria won't happen is US and EU soil. China always support friendship, peace and love between people around the world. Not only just between Tibetans, Han and other East Asian people. |

..................................... The Chinese government needs to address Tibetan issues in a better way. Period. If they act deaf, the Tibetans are just going to keep doing it. Hopefully Tibetans will listen if the government does try to work things out. People are forget that Tibet is an autonomous region and govern by the Tibetan people himself. And central government already did their best to help Tibet and fight discrimination. Actually in China, Tibetan is the golden child of China. If you look at China laws and how much money central government put into Tibet. None of other ethnic groups have this very luxurious treatment like Tibetan. But as we know, that Tibetan in exile is backed up by the CIA. And CIA main purpose is to destabilize China. Basically whatever you try to promote peace, love and friendship, CIA will find another reason to make trouble and spread bloods in China. This is the fact. I bet she also admires Islamic terrorists lol. They're willing to die for their cause too. Suicide bombings are the language of the unheard. Why is it that China bashers always blame Han Chinese for everything yet I never hear in the 2009 Urumqi riots how poor Han Chinese were killed only Uighurs. |

"suicide Bombings" is an Islamic weapon; and arsenal of their Jihad. It is a commandment of Allah to observe Jihad when necessary. But it is NOT A BUDDHIST DOCTRINE. THE TIBETAN "self Immolators" are imitating the Muslims. It is a wrong Buddhist doctrine, and the Dalai Lama should declare it as immoral. If he does not, then He, the Dalai Lama is exploiting the deaths of his devout followers for his own publicity and that is criminal. |

I don't think the US will fall into a civil war part 2. Occupy Wall Street already got a few million in donations. Its just not really going anywhere yet. Too early to tell. The US elections coming up will be telling. As much as I agree that Chinese are peaceful, history does say otherwise, at least with internal issues like civil wars. People are forget that Tibet is an autonomous region and govern by the Tibetan people himself. And central government already did their best to help Tibet and fight discrimination. Even if they are involved, the government should still do more. Counter propaganda.. something. But it needs to be subtle influence rather than with force. |

The US elections coming up will be telling. As much as I agree that Chinese are peaceful, history does say otherwise, at least with internal issues like civil wars. First, passing non-fly zone UN resolution to protect US civilian from the ruling regime of USA. Second, funding and arming drug dealers, criminals, etc in US with weapons. Third, recognize or assuming this armed mobs as Occupied Wall Street protesters and human right activists. Forth, establish rebel bases in Mexico border, so they can retreat safely. Fifth, if US policemen or army attack the rebels, the media thru "human right activist" will condemn the attack. Sixth, establish the official government of USA in the rebel base in Mexico border. I admit this is crazy! You can't blame everything on the CIA. Even if they are involved, the government should still do more. Counter propaganda.. something. But it needs to be subtle influence rather than with force. It's not secret that Tibetan in exile very very close to CIA. It is the CIA agents itself who sit in the Tibetan in exile leadership. |

if the problem persists in 50 years time, i want to see a resolution of some sort, either through a tibet revolution or extermination. This is too extreme. The problem now, compared to 60's or 70's, is too many young Tibetans are not part of the economy, so they have nothing to lose and they're easily stirred up by foreign groups on the Internet. A political program is needed for these people. How about send them to Africa to become collective herders? |

There should be some kind of economic program for them in Africa or in Central Asia, when the west doesn't want them and their neighbors threaten them, then they will know to love the motherland. |

Well, Tibet and Tibetan regions in provinces are different. Tibet is about 95% Tibetan, so there is not so much Han competition there. However, in provinces these areas are multiethnic areas with many Han Chinese who are more successful that Tibetans, so they are frustrated. The only solutions are to improve Tibetan education and if that doesn't work then force is the solution. Also Sichuan is tax paying province, Tibet doesn't even pay taxes to the central government. |
