Alexandra (aka Sandra) is the epitome of Laotian sweetness and politeness. She has a beautiful Vientiane accent. Sandra visits Vientiane from Japan during a school break: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K1lbKJcTye8 Sandra returns to Vientiane with her master's degree: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vJlNfYKCgyw I think her accent is Lanna mixed with Bangkok. Savan, if you want to hear real Viang Chan accent, come to my home in Ratchaburi. There are many Lao Viang in Ratchaburi brought by Burmese army. ![]() And they don't sound a bit like Alexandra. I think most of Lao Viang were brought or moved to Thailand and most of Viang Chan people today are Puan. |

Alexandra is speaking typical Viengchan accents. Now a day, Viengchan people come in variety, more like a melting pot. So sawan monkey needs to stop making sh!t up about a place that he never seen. Thank you very much.

Thank you very much. LOL, at least tell your backward Lao communist make the standard of Lao Viengchan accent. I heard that there are more than 5 accents! I think it must becuz of Thai Bangkok influence to Lao Vienchan people. |

There's also more than 5 accents in Thailand...so what's your point? Anyway, why is it that when I would search for Lao celebs on YouTube, I'd see them on both Lao TV and Thai TV...Lao language is featured on both Lao TV and Thai TV, yet Thai language is only featured on Thai TV, but not on Lao TV. Thais all over Thailand are exposed to Lao accent on your own TV stations. Our Lao celebs speak with a Vientiane accent, therefore, millions of Thais are influenced by Lao Vientiane accent in your own media. Anyone can do a YouTube search to see Lao celebs speaking Lao language on Thai TV, but good luck trying to find Thai language on Lao TV. Bak Savan, Could you do me a favor? Stop embarrasing Lao people. Thailand is an open country, a free and open market, any pop music can be shown in Thai TV, including Lao music. Nothing strange. And I gurantee you that no one in Bangkok is going to duplicate Lao song, that will be the last thing they want to do. But for Laos, commie govt need to prohibit watching Thai TV from time to time because of the culture invasion from the other side of the river (but they failed to do that, Lao people still keep watching Thai soap, Thai music everyday) When you say that Lao music has an influence on Thai accent, you are embarassing Lao people, you know? You are making people laugh at Lao brothers. Stop it. This post has been edited by sawan: Dec 13 2010, 07:18 AM |
