when you buy fruits do you usually refrigerate them or just leave them out? LoL
Cause my family tend to put fruits in a fancy container and just leave it out. but when i was scouring through my friends fridge i found all their fruits in there. This post has been edited by beckiiChroma: Aug 28 2007, 04:44 PM |

I normally put fruits inside the fridge. It prolong their freshness.Just make sure they wont get wet cuz once one of them do, all of them would rot. |

QUOTE(beckiiChroma @ Aug 30 2007, 07:45 PM) so they rot faster when theyre out? ^Bananas will but not most fruits. Fruits such as bananas, avocados, mango, pineapple (usually ripe already from the store, so after a day or two outside put them in the fridge), oranges, apples will be okay if you leave them out of the fridge. The fridge lasts longer but it destroys the flavors of the fruits instantly. My best advice, any of your unripe fruits leave outside for two days but no more than three days (they'll become moldy) then cut them open or put them in the fridge and use them within a day after they're in there so that the flavors aren't destroyed. |

Tomatoes and bananas release ethylene gas that can spoil your other produce in the fridge so leave them out at room temperature.

It depends on which kind of fruit. I leave out bananas, kiwis and mangos. But I put apples, oranges, strawberries all into the fridge.

Aussie oranges are probably the best oranges Ive ever had... All fruits go in the fridge, but beer and liquor takes priority seating...
