Older main boards use the 20 pin but the newer more capable boards use the 24pin. Basically u take out the 4 extras adpated to the pin.. get a Enermax Noisetaker 420watt for 65bux. It's the best performing PSU in terms of price and performance ratio. This post has been edited by juwanFromTaiwan: Apr 21 2006, 06:06 PM |

The Antec SonataII comes equipped with a 450W Antec SmartpowerII power supply unit (PSU). And yes, that PSU comes with a 24-pin power connector with detachable 4-pin section. http://www.antec.com/us/productDetails.php?ProdID=26450 |

Is the Enermax 420 watt better than the Antec Truepower II 430Watt http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16817103928 im going to buy either one tommorow because i desperately need it. |

They're both good PSUs, and as they cost about the same, I'd go with the ENERMAX EG425P 420W PSU, since it gives you slightly more juice on the 12V rails (peak total of 36Amps) instead of peak total of 34Amps from the TruepowerII. But then, it's really like splitting hairs, isn't it, so yeah, you can't go wrong with either one. |

Go with the $64.99 Enermax Noisetaker 420Watt. It looks as sophisticated as it sounds. Plus Dual 18AMP Rails = 36 AMPS Total. It's a no brainer!
