I started a thread in Malaysia forum also but

Malaysia and China and other countries i think, has these laws that if you sell/do drugs you will get the death penalty but why???? How do Chinese view drugs? What do they think about this punishment?

I think committing murder is far more worse than selling or doing drugs. One can be fixed or gone through some treatment/rehabilitation to get to stop doing drugs or staying away from drugs but once your dead its no chance no nothing nada.

i personally dont mind marijuana, it's less harmful than cigarettes and alcohol.

but china needs people to be free of addictions....

you know much much money it costs for the government to pay for addiction rehabilitation each year in china? you know how many people die from overdose each year from cocaine, heroine...w.e there is.

LOL Actually right now if you snatch a purse from someone on the street in China, you could punish to death by the Chinese government. Look at the article below:

Purse-snatching death penalty introduced in China

http://www.abc.net.au/news/newsitems/200603/s1583853.htm

By China correspondent John Taylor in Beijing

A province in China has introduced the death penalty for purse-snatching.
Economic good times in China have been followed by worsening crime.
Southern Guangdong province, neighbouring Hong Kong, has been particularly affected, with tens of thousands of people convicted of robbery every year.
Officials there have announced that purse-snatching is now punishable by death.
Even those whose life is spared will still face a mandatory three years in jail.
Amnesty International says it is a knee-jerk response that will not reduce crime.
China officially executes about 10,000 people every year, more than the rest of the world combined.

I completely agree.
If the law is clear and you break it knowing that doing so will cost you your life then there is no complaint.

The death penalty should be in place for alot more crimes.

Well I think it's a bit excessive but probably more effective overall. I wish owning a gun = death penalty in the U.S. icon_confused.gif

Those who have committed such crimes should be shot, no sympathy for those bastards who have sold their souls to the demons. Drugs can and have ruined a lot people and their families, it's not a matter of business, it's a threat to the society.

Its quite simple . If there is a clear law in place with an inflexible out come for those who (CHOOSE) to break it. Then what happens happens. In the case of drugs tho its most definetly correct. Drugs don't just kill they destroy the futures of so many. Most hard core drug users started out doing pot, then moved on to the harder stuff. Dealers should be made to suffer for the crime of dealing.
As for using think about it. A 14 year old. Is offered a sample. But he knows that just last month 30 people were executed for doing drugs. Good chance he will say fuuuuuuug no.

I own 4 firearms why would you wish me executed? I have never used a gun against anyone. I would against a criminal if they came into my house or threatened my family.

I think making money off people's addiction is wrong so drug dealing should be punishable by death. If you're gonna grow your own stuff for personal use then I dont think there is a problem.

And this is where the problem of making more crimes death penalty cases. Too many different opinions regarding how severe the crime is. I think that's why we just have the death penalty for murderers.

Also I wouldn't have you executed lol here and now. I wish guns were illegal and carried such a severe sentence for owning one people would figure it's not worth the risk.

Irrelevant, I agree with the death penalty to a certain extent but there are always those wrongly convicted which is what splits me in two on the issue.

Drugs should equal the death penalty. Rape and murder will get your @$$ shot also, as will severely injuring someone and attempted murder. Complain or harshness all you want; China has a pretty low severe crime rate because of it.
