I usually spent my summers during highschool playing pen and paper with some kids i met from school. we would get blazed then play either Hunter: The Reckoning or Vampire: The Masquerade. You would have never guessed we were pen and paper nerds either.

nintendo wii, kinect, those games are good for old people, it helps reflex and hand eye cordination.

I'm not trying to argue that they are not good for that but that's not the only option to exercise reflexes and hand-eye coordination. Sports, and running can do most of those things as well.

For rehabilitation uses of motion games are not wasteful, they are not the games I was referring to.

I'm just going to have a deck of Pacifiers. kiss.gif

And to Skylin: I personally think that as long as you're having fun and not wasting all of your time on gaming, it's fine. Games like Magic, for example, are strategic games that require skill, knowledge, tactics, and a lot of strategy. You can play online, but most players will play face to face so you're not really in your parent's basement on the PC all night long.

Not going to lie though; there is a certain type of satisfaction I get when I teabag some twelve year old snot on Halo.

I do go out often though; I'm a bit of a globe trotter/explorer. Gaming is just something I do for fun.

Sorry but just a pick on words, I like how you say "and not wasting all your life" insinuating that some time is wasted.

I used to play games but my preferences have just changed. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, yours is yours and mine is mine, neither is wrong. I just wouldn't buy my future daughter/son a game console or an online subscription on the bases that it will exercise their "skill, knowledge, tactics...and strategy." I would buy them something else like a chess board, monopoly, or other strategic board games, and I would need to practice what I preach right? Also, I know that travelers and games are not mutually exclusive.

sports games are not a waste of time becuase you can develope strategies in the game and apply it to real life. Sim city wouldnt be a waste of time for architects, and construction workers.

spending 100 hours killing a dragon that does not exist is a waste of time.

How ‘Game Over’ Is Attractive in Diablo 3

Do u remember the deep voice of ‘game over’ in various games. Diablo 3 ItemsEach time u run out of ur life, u will hear the voice. Do u feel regretful? Depressed? Or sad?
I like playing Mario Foreve.diablo 3 gold At that time there is no function such as ‘save’. Players just have several lives. Once u lose or give up the game, u have to restart. At the end of game, the deep voice ‘game over’ always appears. U r sad for a moment, but after that moment, u have to play it again. U want to pass it. So u experience more frequently until u win. Each time u fail, u learn something and next time u will not make the same mistakes. After many years’ playing, I find ‘game over’ is fair-sounding. It is a kind of warn. So I suggest HC mode in Diablo 3.
Different from STD, HC players only have limited life. So in order to live players have to be considerate about their decisions. Once u do something wrong, u have to restart the game. I have restarted for many times. Every time I restart it, I gain more experience. I adjust my battle strategies and finally I level up to 70+. In STD mode, wrong decisions are common for they don’t have to worry about the roles’ life. The more it hurts to die, the more u want to stay alive. That’s the reason to be hardcore. In HC players learn more on how to make a right and good decision. Do u have such courage to play this mode? If u dare, u r to be admired. What if there is only HC mode in D3? There is no ‘save’.Diablo 3 Items If u want to leave the game for a while, u can only give it up. Does this harm their enthusiasm on games? No. when the going gets tough, the tough gets going. It will not harm their zeal, but increase their zeal.
HC mode will bring some problems to the game, such as PVP. I suggest PVP divided into two modes, common PVP mode and death PVP mode. Common PVP mode is to entertain. If u lose, u just go on the game. Ur failure doesn’t bring the game to end. Another mode is death PVP mode. Once u lose the game, u have to restart it. It is symbol of courage, psychological ability. Whether u lose or win, u r to be respected. If ur kills reach to certain amount, look at ur awards and levels. How honorable. All these cannot be bought with money.
So I should say ‘game over’ is not summons of death, but a hint to encourage u to achieve more. ‘Game over’ is attractive and charming. Next time when u hear it, don’t feel frustrated. Challenge it.

I think if they make a nice balance schedule between gambling and life, then you will benefits from it. I think gambling at some point help create our brain, but playing game much will become a catastrophe. So, if they play in a reasonable degree, then its not a actual waste at all.

I too agree with it because it doesn't give any benefit, for that time you can read something to gain your knowledge.

But I still haven't beaten Touhou PCB on lunatic mode. How can I move on with my life towards Maslow's self actualization, until I have the self-esteem that comes only from finishing this long-held dream?

Someone is actually talking about Touhou in this forum? Mind-blown!

I created a Touhou thread years back but nobody knows what it is

Anyway about Touhou, I suck at that game so much, I could only beat the game in Easy mode without using continues with possibly the exception of three games.

Games I have beaten WITHOUT using continues in Easy mode:

Touhou 03
Touhou 08
Touhou 09
Touhou 10
Touhou 12
Touhou 13

Games I have beaten in Easy mode WITH continues

Touhou 07

Games I probably beat in Normal mode without continues

Touhou 04 (I died during the fight with Yuuka though but the game went straight to the ending, does that count as beating it?)
Touhou 08 (same as above, I went to Eirin's path and died in the fight with her and the game went straight to the ending)
Touhou 13 (I don't know about this one, the game was running at the speed of 30 FPS so I don't think this one counts)

There is a balance. When I was in high school, I did play a lot of games. Then I stopped and went out. Now, I have a herculean task of hangout with people and girls touching my penis.

You shouldn't let just any girl touch your penis you know. Didn't your parents ever teach you that.
