Only if their general understanding is Siam is Khmer-Mon people... and It still not that easy because for Khmer; Siam is not Siem! and we do call those Evil Thai as Siem! Siem who invaded Cambodia!
and the other impossibility is Syam is already existed during that time.. if Angkorean consider them as foreigner they also can't claim it! and the proved is the inscription call them SyamKok (possibly Mon-Khmer who mix with Ai-Lao or at least Tai-Dam)which mean the country of Syam(modern literate: Siam)! and modern day they speak Siem (Tai with heavy influence by Khmer) not Khmer! ^^

he claimed tai speaking kings of funan by switching letters on a chinese transliteration while he has no knowledge of proto tai language or chinas ancient language and pronounciation system.

he couldnt answer how the chinese end up talking about the funanese as dark skinned people but completely miss how the kings were supposed tai lineage and most definetly lighter

also who are the chao bon people? they are remnants of the mon kingdom in thailand and speak an ancient version of mon. their bones and dna were found in the research he tried to pass off as being found tai speakers in southeast asia. his research was from biased thai racial nazis my research was done 1 year after his and showed the bones and dna found were of the chao bon people a mon khmer people at phimai site.
