Finally with the heightened sophistication of Thai society accompanying the enlightened rule of King Chulalongkorn, Cambodian brāhmans were once again needed to fill expanding governmental posts.

If im not mistaken Brahmins came from India. Their traditions may have been handed down to modern cambodians but there are also brahmins of other ethnics everywhere lol

Did you people honestly think that there was only one source of brahmins in Thailand? lol they said one outstanding brahmin family...ONE. It just so happens they were cambodians... good on them They could have been of Indian descent from all we know lol they said Cambodian remember.. not KHMER.

No dumbass. Thai is the same as saying Cambodian. Its a national Identity. Tai and Khmer is the ethnic identity. However, Khmers use Khmer for everything both ethnic and national identity. Then they get confused and call everything else khmer too, even other ethnic groups on Cambodia have be REBRANDED as Khmer lol for example Chams living in Cambodia have been rebranded as Khmer Islam.
