Dear diary, why is han2 such a pain in the @$$?
I mean, he gave me warning for saying "dumbo" and "idiot" and accused me of flaming, wtf? He didn't even notice I was provoked to say those words, and looking at my post, I think I'm way beyond flaming. With the words thrown between the people here, he should have banned 99% of the members, especially in KoreaVSJapanVSChina/CambodiaVSThailandVSLaos/IndonesiaVSMalaysia etc threads. If he is such a good mod, why doesn't he ban members who use serious insults instead. There are a lot of people in this forum who use dirty words which I wouldn't even dream of saying in both real life and the internet. Talk about double standard. He seriously have something against me and other Indonesian members and with power in his hand, abusing came easy for him. |

well, no indonesia for me this summer, because we just booked a holiday to vietnam. A bit disappointed i couldnt exercise my bahasa indonesia, but i was even more happy because i always wanted to go to Vietnam:P
It's cold here, so i really wanna go to a better climate. Makes me remind the last holiday in Malaysia. There are some other things which are werent funny that time, but are now. 1. Me using Bahasa Indonesia in Malaysia, didnt really knew some words had different meanings there. Thats what i found out. Like bhutu or gampang. Well, i thought gampang meant easy, but they told me in Malaysia it is something like son of a..... Well, in every SEA Asian country there are places where they use the palm tree to make all kinds of stuff. They mostly show us how they weave or make baskets out of it. A women showed us how it is done. She also wanted to show that her little son could do it too and she was really happy about it. She walked next to me and said thats my son. Me, not impressed by this weaving technique, had to say something lame like, hey, that is easy. SO there i go, pointing at him, saying: ''ayo, itu gampang.'' slapped in my face! :/ 2. I visited many places and in order to get there we used the bus, a LOT! Together with other Dutch tourists, which like to bring candy with them to share with the other dutch or with the native people. If you ever see a Dutch tourist approaching you with something black in his hands, dont eat it, you will probably spit it out. Anyways, we stopped at a Malay desa. Some old people left the bus first and they really like giving candy to children. Well, good thing they didnt brought the black stuff (drop) with them, but they managed to pick something even more worse. They brought from holland, bifi's. Bifi's are little sausages and one of the ingrediënts is pork. Why they brought it with them? i dont know, they old, not really clever. So a bit later, i was getting out of the bus, and i saw them giving the sausages to children. I immediately started to run towards them and said noooooooooooooooo. One kid allready unpacked it and was looking at me like 'screw you, its mine, i am gonna eat it.' So i was thinking of the worst scenario, involving me slapping that sausage out of his mouth. But luckily his parent came and stopped them. NOw the old couply, that gave the sausages, were looking mad at me for making such a scene. The whole bus trip, they looked mad at me, with a full bag of bifi's. This post has been edited by DEL: Jan 29 2008, 06:06 PM |

I think it's very sad to see Western tourists giving out sweets to children. It creates a "begging" mentality. In northern Kenya, the Turkana tribes will ask for sweets or money outright, and when these are not thrown out from the tour buses by the rich tourists, they will show u the finger as u zoom past.... |

I never read the forum rules and I have never been in a serious forum before and now that I have a better understanding of the rules, I gotta say I am surprised that I have not received any warnings for some silly stuff in the past. |
