I feel your pain and anger, being that I am half Chinese Half Vietnamese its hard to take sides sometime. I came to a conclusion that we as an individual should stop "hating" learn to get along and let our government handle political matters.

I quite Frankly don't bloody care who's land belong to who, or who's ancestors lived where. I just know it is the year 2004 the world is getting smaller we are all in an evironmental crisis. We should take a step back from our bitter arguments and look to help the future not ligering on the ancient past. I know one of you guys will write something real smart to dis-credit my opinion but "go ahead" deep down you know I am not wrong.

I want to see malay_ako go visit the Taiwan aborigines and preach his national self determination speech. The Taiwanese aborigines couldn't care less. Their lives are much better than their trible units you want them to revert back to.
There are Chinese in Singapore, doesn't mean Singapore is part of China. |

malay_ako,
Why did your Malay brothers let the Chinese refugees carve out a piece of Malay land and form a country called Singapore that easy? I've heard how your Malay brothers of Singapore are suffering at the hand of the Chinese right now. |

I've heard how your Malay brothers of Singapore are suffering at the hand of the Chinese right now. I lived in Singapore for quite a time and felt that I ought to comment on this. Malays are not treated unfairly in Singapore. If u think they are, pls state some facts and not just say it. Why about Malaysia's "bully big brother's antics"? Always threatening to cut off Singapore's water supply or raising the price of water. What can Singapore do being so small in size and vulnerable? I got nothing against Malays or Malaysia or whatever, why can't the world just learn to live in peace and love thy neighbour? This post has been edited by Mashimaro: Mar 2 2004, 02:38 AM |

Taiwan is best analogy. |

Taiwan is best analogy. malay_ako, you have never even talked to any Taiwan aborigine. how do you know what they want? I have talked to several, and they do not consider themselves malay ethnic group but Taiwanese. They do not want to be associated with primitive culture but an important role in modern Chinese politics. They feel no tie whatsoever to 'malay ethnics'. Also Chinese have been in Taiwan for many centuries. What do you propse? You can't just whine and not plan out a strategy. QUOTE Why did your Malay brothers let the Chinese refugees carve out a piece of Malay land and form a country called Singapore that easy? I can't even picture if Chinese refugees living in Vietnam carve out a piece of Vietnamese land and create their own country. |
