I dunno...there are so many players that are unknown at the international level, in France for example there are asian-french who play in club which are way better than some who plays for national teams but since they have the French Nationality out of like 3000 French players you can only pick the 23 best..and to be in the French roster it's a big challenge...that's why they are not on the roster...but ive seen some good technically and physically one

players like that have a choice, asian-french can also play for their country of descendancy.

classic example is perrotta, born in england but has italian roots. also the awesome matt le tissier who could have played for france and italy but chose england and there's also owen hargreaves who was born in canada could've also played for wales and england aswell as canada because his parents were of welsh and english descendant

Hong Myung-Bo

World Cup 1994

Hong's individual talent was most notably showcased during the 1994 World Cup group stages in the United States. Trailing 2-0 against Spain with only 5 minutes to go, Hong pulled a goal back for Korea, making the score 2-1 and shortly after created the dramatic equaliser for winger Seo to finish off, resulting in a famous come-back.

2 weeks later, Korea found themselves trailing 3-0 at half time against a strong Germany (the defending World Champions at the time) which included the likes of Jürgen Klinsmann, Kohler, Sammer and Matthäus. Despite Hong single-handedly clawing 2 goals back for the Koreans by creating the first goal for striker Hwang Sun Hong to put into the net and then scoring the equaliser himself, the Koreans ran out of luck.

QUOTE(Mantis @ Jun 23 2006, 04:44 PM)

Cha Bum Keun ("Cha Boom") by far, no contest. Played as a forward/winger in the Bundeliga during its height in the 1980s, he is the only foreign player in the Bundesliga to win two UEFA cups with two separate teams (Bayer Leverkusen, Eintracht Frankfurt), scored 98 goals in 300 games, which would stand as the Bundesliga career record for most goals scored by a foreign player until it was broken in 1999, but the league by then was severely weakened and taken over by the likes of the EPL, Serie A, and La Liga. Nicknamed so because of the sheer power with which he drove his shots, Cha Bum Keun also put up a heroic effort in the 1986 World Cup against Italy and eventual winner Argentina in the same group. He has been named the top 10 Bundelisga player of all time, and Asian Player of the Century by numerous sources. Lothar Mattheus once called him the finest striker in the world during the height of Cha's career, and Franz Beckenbauer promised Cha a spot on the starting lineup of the German national team among other benefits if he was willing to take up German nationality, to which he refused.

Cha Bum Keun, best Asian player in history, no contest. Nakata has NOTHING on Cha.

Wow. He was that good? Thanks for the info!

Cha Bum Keun by far is who asian footballers measure themselves against. Lee Dong Guk would be awesome if he ever stopped being hurt. Of course no topic is complete without mentioning Ahn Jung-Hwan. Never excelled at the club level but he shined when it counted during the World Cup. It's a shame that he is retiring soon.

shao jia yi played a very good 1st half against Hamburg in the bundesliga last weekend. But was switched in the 2nd.. maybe due to fatigue. But he really got some nice skills. Had some nice goal-scenes.
Made one goal out of an offside position, so it didn't count.... He is one to remember... biggthumpup.gif
