So far DSL and Cable are the same nowadays. If this was 2003 or 2002, Cable would be superior.

Comcast is wayyyy slower. My friend has Comcast, and it took me 5 mins to download one song one his computer, while that same song took only 1 min. to download on my AT&T DSL.

You may be lucky in one area with DSL, but move to a new area and be really unlucky with slow speeds and unreliable service.

DSL is more of a lucky dip than cable as to what speeds you will get and how reliable the service will be. It depends on the wiring inside your house, the distance and wiring condition between you and the exchange, and how capable the circuitry your provider has in the exchange.

Cable seems to get less complaints (in the UK anyway).

fail. quit trying to justify dsl is better.

AT&T elite, which is the top package(about $35?) they offer for home account that has download speeds up to 6mbps and upload 768kbps. The basic package is the cheapest and low end package(19.99?) that has a download speed of 768kbps and upload. Comcast's cheapest and slowest speed is up to 12mbps. There a reason why companies advertises cable internet as faste than dsl

most of the time with AT&T and comcast... when you call in and cancel(pretend to), they will try and make you stay with very good offers. offers like up to 50% off when u agree to a 1 year contract.

very slow if you are paying 37 bucks. my iphone's 3g is faster than that and AT&T's 3G service isn't the fastest compared to other service providers either.

not everyone needs blazing fast broadband service anyways. if you are happy about your speed, just leave it alone. Just don't be a moron going around telling peOple that AT&T's dsl speeds are 5 times faster than comcast cable like the guy in this thread

i will give them a good reason why i want to cancel my internet. I think the speed is slow and add to that it disconnect so often for 2-3 minutes i fed up with it that is why i want to switch to metrocast high speed internet which is way faster than dsl (that what they say).
