If fact people in Manila are mixed with all kinds of Filipinos from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao and there are also Mestizos, Tsinoys, Amboys, etc... and they all converge in Manila and overcrowding it in the process that is why I do not want to live in Manila I rather live in the mountains for more serenity.

LOL there were no tagalogs at the time when Philippines was first settled by austronesians LOL there is another website claiming the borneans fought the ati when they first arrived...it was only after bartering with the negrito leader did the fighting stop so you claiming fact from a lone website is nothing But there were Tagalogs already when the Bornean Visayans came. So apparently, it's just right that the true natives - the Tagalogs and Luzon people - rule the Philippines. It's just plain impossible that no mixing happened. Panay is so small. |

Precisely. Most Chinese, Caucasians, and other foreigners in the Philippines all live in Manila. In the process, most modern Manilenyos are a combination of native Tagalog (and/or Visayan / Pampango / Ilocano), Chinese, and Spanish. The Manilenyos therefore, are the most cosmopolitan people in the rest of the archipelago. Unlike in Antique where the people are mixed migrant Bornean and Ati. |

It's just plain impossible that no mixing happened. Panay is so small. borneans were a back migration from earlier migrations of austronesians to borneo from Philippines....I was talking about when Philippines was 1st settled by austronesians...not when the back migration happened I didn't say no mixing happened....Im saying it was minimal at best LOL you take things in extreme..... |

LOL in reality...Manila is basically rich chinese and poor australoids...with austronesin(visayan, ilocano, pampangan) in the middle lol ocrap you know its wrong to claim your opinions as facts right...just because 2 individual races live in the same area does not mean they will both mix to such extremes...if what you say is true there would be no more visible atis left...and thats not true... most historians agree that bornean migrants and atis lived seperately... lol how many mixed ati u know who look like this.... ![]()

You put too much stock into regions. Bicol is strongly connected to the Visayans culturally. And some of the people in the pics are definitely more Australoid than people in Manila. ![]() ![]()

Manila people tend to look a lot more Asian than these Australoid-looking peoples you find in the parts of the Philippines outside of Manila. |

Dont you know that when you mixed two groups, some people will have some features from one group, and some features from another. Just because someone has small Mongoloid eyes, doesn't discount the other Australoid features. The guy in the middle has the biggest, flattest nose out of all of them, but all you focus on is the eyes. This post has been edited by Graham_Cracker07: Aug 13 2011, 11:25 AM |
