Hey guys how is everyone?
umm, i was wondering whether there is anybody who has a job in a field of Business, where they also needed to involve psychology in it. i think this would be apart of Advertising, or Marketing/Communications but just wondering whether anybody work in these fields? picture this: A person working for a firm who creates certain advertisement through the aid of psychological methods to capture audiences i.e creating the t.v commercial for "Coke Zero" think being the person who sits in a room thinking of ideas to explode a new product into the market. i'm sure there is a job like this, but do you start off with a job like this or is it something which one must escalate into? what job would this be called? and does anybody do this type of job or similar? i'm looking for something like this, but have no friggin idea where to start . thanks guys, stay tuned |

Look up a company called IDEO -- think it'll be right up your alley. They term it "human factors" and work with several of the top Fortune 500 companies in product design and innovative thinking.
Here's the Wikipedia entry on IDEO Yes, advertising and marketing will all lead you down that path, as well fields like industrial (e.g. automotive) design and even applied sciences and software design (think R&D arms of corporations, like Bell Labs in the old days or Google Labs in the more modern tech world.) I think this area is actually quite broad, so start with what interests you. Hope that helps! |

i heard from a teacher that pepsico uses a lot of psychology in their advertisings and marketing in general, and that their CEO was a psychologist. i don't know if they have a special name i thought they were still marketeers regardless of what they used: psychology, maths, history, whatever...
