that is using $$ as a factor. it doesnt calculate the real amount of companies that exist there.
for example. taipei has only 1 company that makes like 25k a year. we all know that there are more than one single company in the ROC. This post has been edited by dgs_vex: Jul 13 2006, 07:42 PM |

QUOTE(ktchong @ Jul 13 2006, 07:32 PM) Not Shanghai!? I thought Shanghai was more vibrant and modern than Beijing. They're mostly state-owned companies. So it's not a surprise they locate their HQs in Beijing. In this sense, the city of Beijing is in charge of economy. |

the money just goes through communist dictators in beijing. other than that, i have been to beijing. It is really nothing. in fact, it is a very small city. they don't even have any financial districts. there are no trees and everthing is brown color there, the air is very bad, there is no factories either. it just has the governmental offices, where the dictators collect the entire country's money.

foreign companies have offices in beijing in order to get quick access to ccp officials when it comes time to negotiate tax rates, environmental standards, labor issues, etc. doesn't really mean the foreign firms actually operate in beijing. i think no.5 should be shanghai, not beijing.

Shanghai and Beijing both look very nice from the pictures and all I've seen, they definately deserve to be in at least the top 20 global cities.
