Almost 30 New York School closed

Man so many schools in NY is closing.. One of them is two blocks away from me! Scary! eek.gif eek.gif Swine Flu galore!

The following schools are closed due to high numbers of flu-related absences:

Queens

• I.S. 238 in Hollis (Reopens Friday, May 22. NOTE: This is the only school with currently diagnosed cases of H1N1 flu.)
• P.S. 16 in Corona (Reopens Friday, May 22)
• P255 in Corona (Reopens Friday, May 22)
• I.S. 5 in Elmhurst (Reopens Friday, May 22)
• J.H.S. 74 in Bayside (Reopens Tuesday, May 26)
• M.S. 158Q in Bayside (Reopens Tuesday, May 26)
• P.S. 107 in Flushing (Reopens Tuesday, May 26)
• I.S. 25 in Flushing (Reopens Tuesday, May 26)
• World Journalism Preparatory in Flushing (Reopens Tuesday, May 26)
• P.S. 233 in Flushing (Reopens Tuesday, May 26)
• Holy Family School in Flushing (Reopens Tuesday, May 26)
• San Demetrios School in Astoria (Reopens Tuesday, May 26)
• St. Joseph's in Astoria (Reopening date to be determined)
• P.S. 32 in Flushing (Reopening date to be determined)
• P.S. 19 in Corona (Reopening date to be determined)
• P.S. 209 in Whitestone (Reopening date to be determined)
• P9 in Whitestone (Reopening date to be determined)
• Our Lady of Lourdes in Queens Village (Reopening date to be determined)
• P.S. 35 in Jamaica (Reopening date to be determined)
• Merrick Academy Charter School in Queens Village (Reopening date to be determined)


Bronx

• Horace Mann School in Riverdale (Reopens Tuesday, May 26)
• South Bronx Charter School in Mott Haven (All three locations reopen Tuesday, May 26)


Brooklyn

• I.S. 318 in Williamsburg (Reopens Tuesday, May 26)


Manhattan

• St. David's in Upper East Side (Reopens Thursday, May 21)
• The Child Legacy School on Roosevelt Island (Reopening date to be determined)
• P.S. 130 in Chinatown (Reopening date to be determined)

I thought i had it for a while too.. I came down with a cold last weekend and was like shiet.. Do i have piggy flu? Kept checking my temperature to make sure I wasn't higher than normal.. lol

You can still have the swine flu ... even with average temperatures for a fever.
Just means that your body fights the virus better.

And, Yes, having those schools in and near Chinatown does disturb me.
However, can't stress too much over what I have no control over.
I'm just glad my kid didn't get the flu.
