Hi there!
How do you motivate yourself learning when you're for example tired or just don't have any desire to learn? This post has been edited by ralfi: Oct 24 2008, 10:21 AM |

think about the consequences if you don't study.
failing exam -> failling class -> waste time retaking -> no future -> no wife -> no kid -> the end of you. |

i don't think you can seek motivation when it comes to studies...just stay focus, stay sharp and you will begin to enjoy it and enjoyment is another form of motivation..that worked for me in physics but now that i am in vacation, i have again lost control of everything...

If you are tired, let's relax. If you don desire to learn, ask yr self "Why?" Then think abt the good results of learning. |

Given I'm the best, then why should I learn, if I'm the best per se already? Where's the motivation then?? I'd make the opposite by saying to myself, that I'm stupid and the only way out from this is to be assiduous and learn diligently and work hard and all this.
But telling yourself that all the others were "a_holes" probably works since I don't want to lose against them... This post has been edited by ralfi: Nov 26 2008, 02:10 PM |

QUOTE(starry @ Nov 28 2008, 10:56 AM) Um...compete against yourself then? It's a nuclear arms race out there. I doubt this is going to work. This is like saying to a woman who has just lost her beloved spouse and thus feels grief, now, that she should smile, laugh and be ludicrous again. Umm....Maybe that wasn't the best example but I hope it was enough to put my point across. Actually I don't know how exactly motivation works but I know how it doesn't work. You can't say to yourself "compete against yourself" and then *bang* you feel motivation. As far es my experiences goes, you need an incentive from the outside, an objective reason, somethig that is real and not based on subjective perception, IMHO. |

Do something fun. Not point motivating yourself to do $hit you don't want to do. You're never going to win that way.

Lol, yes. Slippery slope your way to success! What I do is tell my mind and body that it's time to study or do a project...no matter what. I have this crazy self motivation thing that gets me to do anything. I remember one night I was up all night making myself finish something I really didn't want to be doing. But I did it all night long until my legs were collapsing under me. I was almost done. So I just dragged my legs around because my knees felt like they were going to implode. I was doing a large scale painting. Study-wise, I study until I get it. I don't budge until I do. You can pull off crazy stuff if you just told yourself "Just do it." Nike style of course. |
