It varies. Some are 100% online and you don't ever meet your teach or other classmates. You have modules that you have to complete weekly or before exams. Some are weekly quizzes. Online writing discussions. Group assignments over the internet and things. This is like my Developmental Psych class.

And my Microeeconomics and Statistic class are online but there's also a small live class were students can go but it's also taped so lectures are viewable online. If there's a lab, like my Stats, I actually have to go to my lab. There are online quizzes weekly. I have to go to the live exams and final. For my microeconomics, there are chapter quizzes but they're just optional. There are 3 tests that we actually have to show up for. But in my Univ, a lot of business majors go study abroad so they can take this class totally online so I don't know how they take their tests (probably online).

So really, it varies by course and teacher.

I love it for certain classes, but I think that others can only exist in a classroom...like Public Speaking.

It just makes completely no sense why schools would even offer a Public Speaking class online.

Take as many as you can. Easy credit and you save gas and calories.

Beware if you're an internet addict. Do not take online class.

I like it. I can attend class in my PJS, and watch my class whenever I want to. Just make sure you do not procrastinate because watching 10 online classes before an exam is not fun! embarassedlaugh.gif
You save money, gas, and time. I do miss the interaction with other students though but if I have the choice I would choose online classes.
Another advantage of online classes is that it allows you to go back and review any content that you did not understand or has missed. Also, if the professor is talking too fast you can always rewind or paused it while you take notes. I found that really useful!

My experiences with it are pretty bad.

I took an online class before and all the homework and exams were timed. During a few homework assignments and once during an exam, my internet got disconnected. x_x

That's the risk that comes along with it.

I take in person and online classes with my uni, and I really enjoy it. Some of the harder courses for me are online, and like others have said earlier, you can do it at your own pace, rewind lectures if you didn't quite understand something etc.

It makes things much easier for me, and I enjoy going to the lectures I have in person a lot more than I used to, because I don't have to be there as often as before.

So, it was a good experience for me (minus the freak disconnection/cpu freezing during exams...¬¬)

I have taken up various online classes and I think that it was a good experience for me. Though if you are not that serious with it or you are not that disciplined to accomplish tasks and attend classes, then you are just wasting money here. There are various ways in which you can hold online classes and having a conference type, would just be one example.

i hated it!! i learned my lesson last quarter. i submitted my homework, my assignments, tests, everything, but the teacher said that he never got the stuff!! i was so irate because i worked my butt off in that class!!! i even checked to make sure everything was submitted after i finished it and i know that it all got submitted.. so idk what went wrong.. but then half the time this teacher didnt even pay attention to the class.. Argh! so frustrating
