WOMAN POWER. President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo speaks at rites marking the 70th anniversary of the Philippine Suffrage Act, which granted Filipino women the right to vote. In her first public appearance of Arroyo following the 12 September conviction of her predecessor Joseph Estrada for plunder, Arroyo said Filipino women greatly benefit from the economic gains of her administration and also pushed for the computerization of polls.
