You have to go back up to read mr surrender's post.

I should say c-chat is group 2. AF lounge has some group 3's although they seem to have died off lately.

chinese american and usa are like a working relationship, a partnership between employee/employer. most come here to take the opportunity to maximize america great resource and most pay back with tax, skill, and conduct as a good minority citizen. being assimilated into mainstream culture and politics is not that important since most aren't that loyal or feel connected to this country. pretty sure if america is invaded, most will quickly left. and if china is in a war conflict with america, the US will put them in a concentration camp like they did to japanese american who was loyal to the US. it's part of racial distinction that is very be hard to change despite what the US stands for imho.

American born Chinese would have a greater tie to the United States than to China. If anything, they find that many Chinese born have superiority complexes simply because they were born in China.

The US doesn't do concentration camps anymore. Instead, have 24 hour surveillance on you. Example would be their treatment of Muslim Americans.

remember this?

Chinese Professor
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OTSQozWP-rM

now its worse.

Now
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kxw4uZAezaI

we have some asian fob on a bicycle and a rice patty hat speaking in broken english.

as usual they claim the actors are Chinese. as if it made it less offensive. really its irrelevant. what is obvious is how no chinese/overseas chinese/overseas asian seems to think these ads are a problem.

Well, it's good that people are reacting negatively to this. This politician actually did the Asian community a favor by getting us mobilized and united. It's much better than the secretive, PC racism that we experience everyday as Asians. At least the Republicans are being honest with their racism instead of hiding it like Hilary Clinton.

what make you think that so, sir?

they don't do it because of overwhelming media backlash if they do, but make no mistake about it. when US govt need to, they will put american citizens into a concentration camp. those camps still exist and the policy gives the US govt the right to do it.

Since I grew up in Taiwan and the when I immigrated to U.S.,at the beginning I only understood Mandarin and some Minnan,so naturally I formed friends with other overseas Chinese,When I lived in Chicago there was a lot more other ethncities so I bonded with Westernized Chinese, after moving to Wisconsin in a predominately White town I had coexist though not always peacefully.

The latest batch of Republican candidates are the most anti-Chinese we've seen since the cold war.

The lone exception being Ron Paul.

Exactly! If racial hatred and mongering is the key to getting elected in the US....what does that say about American society? Very dark and sad indeed.

BOTH Democrats and Republicans are pandering to China hating - Republicans are just more obvious than Dems who do it subtley. Ron Paul is above all that which is why I respect him.

jon huntsman is good too. too bad he dropped out of the race.

ron paul is the one that can save the world and america.

some of the policies from him that I love:

abolish the federal reserve, or audit it. beerchug.gif
abolish the CIA beerchug.gif
remove all oversea military bases to cut spending beerchug.gif
forging sincere ties with china beerchug.gif beerchug.gif
adopting china style "non-interference policy" and leave iran and the middle east alone beerchug.gif beerchug.gif
abolish the taiwan relations act. beerchug.gif beerchug.gif beerchug.gif

too bad he will never be nominated or elected as president.
