The past few months, several recruiters called me at my office with possible job offers.
I sit pretty close to my boss and these calls are freaking me out.
Anyone else have similiar experience?

I wish recruiters would call me! Here in Southern California, the job market is so tight. So Cal has the highest population of Asians in the continental U.S and a good number of us have degrees, so theres alot of stiff competition. Im getting a BA in June in Business and any Asian from UCLA or USA can bump me easily.

Well here in the philippines they do call or email us. But mostly i encounter is from call center companies.
And I don't want to work night shifts. I got a much better work now than being a agent.

Filipinos tell me that a filipino high school degree is the eqivilent of a U.S. junior high school certificate and a college degree from a filipino university is the equilvent of a U.S. high school diplomat.

I don't think there is any truth to that.

Im not bull$hiting, my filipino coworkers tell me that straight from their mouths. Just one of the many reasons why college degrees from filipino universities arent accepted in the U.S.

You mean they're worth less. It applies to a lot of foreign students, not just Filipino grads.

yup, i've gotten a few calls from headhunters seeing if i'm happy where i'm at and asking whether or not i'd be willing to work for someone else. i find it a positive thing even though i'm not looking. i give them my resume and let them know that i'm not actively looking but if they come across something that's a good fit, good opportunity, and great pay/bonus, then let me know. they're pretty understanding and some will add you to their newsletter of positions they have available and what/who they're looking for. it doesn't hurt to have that just in case.

if they're calling you during work, just ask them to email you or give them your personal number. since they're calling your office, they're understanding if it's not convenient to talk.

it's up to you if you'd believe that.

am sure that moron of a friend you have didn't even come from a university here.
graduates of colleges here in the philippens are really pathetic. however, i can name some good universities (both state and private) that produce competitive graduates
