There's also more than 5 accents in Thailand...so what's your point?

Bangkok has only one accent. Viengchan has more than one accents and no accent is selected as standard Lao accent. That's my point.

QUOTE (Savan @ Dec 13 2010, 03:45 AM) *
Anyway, why is it that when I would search for Lao celebs on YouTube, I'd see them on both Lao TV and Thai TV...Lao language is featured on both Lao TV and Thai TV, yet Thai language is only featured on Thai TV, but not on Lao TV. Thais all over Thailand are exposed to Lao accent on your own TV stations. Our Lao celebs speak with a Vientiane accent, therefore, millions of Thais are influenced by Lao Vientiane accent in your own media.

Anyone can do a YouTube search to see Lao celebs speaking Lao language on Thai TV, but good luck trying to find Thai language on Lao TV. embarassedlaugh.gif

I think you must misunderstood about Thai TV. I don't think Lao celebs are such mainstream in Thai TV. They may have some opportunity to show their talent in Thai TV but it's very rare. Thai entertainment is very strong. We listen to Thai music, watch Thai drama/series and Thai moves. Only CJK culture and Hollywood Boxoffice can share some cake on Thai TV. So it's impossible for Lao to introduce their Lao accent to our Thai people. Thailand is different from Laos, we have our standard accent which is Thai Bangkok accent. No matter what, this accent will be our Thai standard. Every Thais can speak this standard and can tell the different from this standard and their native accent. But in the other way around, Lao have no standard accent. Lao people can speak anything they want and nobody know which one is supposed to be the proper Lao accent. Like it's happening in Viengchan Laos' capital. There are more than one Viengchan accent! So sometimes when we heard Lao people speak, they just speak more like Thai Bangkok becuz there are no Lao standard accent. Lao people also consume Thai entertainment on Lao TV everyday. It's just easy for Thai Bangkok accent will influence Lao people. That's why in Laos, Lao people can understand Thai, some Lao can fluently speak Thai and Lao singers sing Lao songs in Thai Bangkok tone accent.

Why your monkey have to lie. Bangkok just like Viengchan, both have variation of accents, when you go from town to town. They're not exactly identical. beerchug.gif

...Thais broadcast our Lao media, but Laotians don't broadcast Thai media.

As far as I understand it, due to the proximity of Laos and Thailand, Laos picks up the signal from all the Thai TV stations and they are watched in Laos regularly. No need for Laos to rebroadcast it.

Everyone looks down on thais...even Laotians look down on your people.

Nowadays, even White people love teasing Thailand. Go to teakdoor.com and read the posts on there if you don't believe me. embarassedlaugh.gif

It's embarrassing to be thai, especially a southern thai.

The future of Thailand is very dim. After your king passes away, that's when mass bloodshed will occur in Thailand.

Thai civil war will be known as the ugliest bloodshed in SEA history.

How can lao look down on others when they themselves are look down by people all around the world.
I'm a proud southern Thai, that's why I live my life in southern Thailand.

What about you? Are you proud to be laos?
When will you get back to live your life in laos?

I think her accent is Lanna mixed with Bangkok.

Savan, if you want to hear real Viang Chan accent, come to my home in Ratchaburi.

There are many Lao Viang in Ratchaburi brought by Burmese army.

And they don't sound a bit like Alexandra.

I think most of Lao Viang were brought or moved to Thailand and most of Viang Chan people today are Puan.

lol you just reminded me. there is a Restaurant near my grandmothers house called Lao Wiang. At first I thought it was strange to have such a name but now it makes sense.

Actually, we're laughing at how stupid you are because of your insecurities. You've already admitted that THAI TV airs LAO SONGS...our people and language have been featured in your media and we've reached Top 3 on your music chart.

We've infiltrated your media, yet you haven't made a dent in our media. That's the power of mass media. Your own Thai TV is influenced by our Lao celebs. LOL!

Thai people listen to Lao music and watch Lao TV everyday. There's nothing preventing our media from reaching Thailand. Not only are we beaming Lao TV into Thailand, but your OWN MEDIA is beaming Lao language throughout Thailand.

Not only is Laos producing Lao-language media, but there were even really popular songs that Thailand created that featured Lao language for your own Thai market, which meant that your own country is so infatuated with Lao language that you guys CREATED several LAO-language songs and featured them throughout Thailand. LMAO!

Lao people enjoy watching Korean soaps...Thai soaps look too cheap and old school. Get with the times will you? embarassedlaugh.gif

And oh, you guarantee that no one in Bangkok is going to duplicate Lao songs? Several Thai artists have already covered popular Lao songs so there's no need to lie. The first artist that comes to mind is FLY. beerchug.gif

Yet, no Lao artist has ever covered a Thai song. Now do you understand why people see you as being unoriginal? Always copying others? Even your username is a rip off of mine. beerchug.gif

So Thai media features Lao songs, Lao celebs, Lao language, and "Thai covers" of popular Lao songs, while Lao media only features Lao language.

Now do you understand how much we've influenced your media? beerchug.gif

If you still don't understand, then let me give you an analogy.

German media broadcasts American songs, which means that German media is influenced by America.
However, American media does not broadcast German songs, which means that American media is not influenced by Germany.

^ In the above example, German = Thai, while American = Lao...Thais broadcast our Lao media, but Laotians don't broadcast Thai media.

America and Laos have infiltrated German and Thai media, respectively, but German or Thai media does not exist in American or Lao media.

Even on YouTube, Thais are listening to our media. Half of the comments are from Thais. I rarely see comments from other Asians, which affirms that Thais are interested in Laotian culture and language. That's why Thais are visiting Laos, especially Luang Prabang, but Laotians aren't interested in visiting Thailand.

Savan, you should lay off the crack. Thai people don't watch Laos TV. Laos TV not aired in Thailand. You obviously have no idea about anything that goes on in Thailand or Laos do you? lol you laotians have no country. From the words of a fellow AFer your just a parasite in another country pretending to be true Laos lol

Thai people always see true Laos people as pinong. Same view is seen on the T.V, why wouldn't they show people like alexandra on TV?

Actually the more I spend on AF the more Im starting to distinguish what a true Laos and a Laotian is lol. Laotians have no roots and are eager to cling to anything. They have been brain washed with western Ideal and have lost their link with eastern culture and mannerisms. They are ignorant of their brothers and sisters in the homeland and anything that goes on there. lol

Savan, your not Thai, Laos, Khmer. These are real people. You are a Laotian lol fake people. Give it up sonny lol
