India should leverage its widespread diaspora to develop strategic depth across the world

1. Fiji - more than 40% of the population is of Indian origin and severely marginalized. India should say that it will protect their interests come what may and establish a full diplomatic presence there. It should then offer a full FTA to Fiiji and engage them economically. It should also set up a free trade zone in Fiji and use it to export to other pacific countries and Australia / NZ. This will give India depth in the South Pacific.

2. Guyana / Suriname/ Trinidad / St Maarten - More than 45% -50% of these countries are people of Indian origin. Same as above with presence in the Caribbean and South American. Also Suriname has good oil reserves so an added advantage.

3. Mauritius - It is pathetic that the biggest player there now is China. Most Mauritians would love to have ties with India (their original homeland) than China. We should do the same.

4. Seychelles - Abu Dhabi is a big player here and India. Pathetic.

First, India should develop strategic tie-up with Greater India & ASEAN countries to beat the economic and trade competition from China

Greater India + ASEAN countries can beat China in the World Trade with the support of USA icon_smile.gif
