why not? they worship USA.

Philipine are very similar to USA due to the fact that both are countries that are "made up" from bits and pieces of other people's culture. Philipine has USA's biggest and longest military base, and the pilipinos just love em!
Philipine is USA's most ignored ally, yet they are the most loyal, forgiving host to US's military.

just become one, fly the star and spangle on the soil of philipines!!!!

all wrong im afraid. im a very perceptive person, and quite objective as well.

i observe and then make a judgement. many times my observation yields highly politically incorrect statements, but it is how i see it.

it is those that let politically correctness and other factors to cloud their judgement have the compromising views about issues such as politics and race.

i have observe that chinese food is extremely greasy as well, but we all can live with that...icon_smile.gif

the truth, and only the truth...i have no social or political strings to hold me back from making what i think is a fair statement.

sorry Im not gonna waste my time arguing with a knucklehead. Believe what you want to believe. Get over your "Im so right Im so superior" mentality.

Im only going to argue with you constructively if you are gonna do thesame. Facts by facts. Which in the past you failed to provide and your previous statements were a mere product of your ignorant view.

true facts are subjective and can be fabricated.

how are you suppose to argue your limited observation and not mentioning your close mindedness to understand other peoples personal experience which are broader than yours? embarassedlaugh.gif

I hope you're ready to defend what you argue...

i sincerely believed that philipine should join USA. that way, USA has a stronger presence in SE Asia which has so much turmoil now.

ok, now, what is so bad about USA? fear of loosing ur identity? well, didnt pilipinos say that their culture is a mix of others'? so why not mixed it up summore?

its all good rite? why mix willingly with the spanish and the english culture and not with USA? what a double standard.

is there anything else worth preserving? and most importantly, do you all even care about your true and indegineous ways?

I disagree, the Philippines is a sovereign nation and has no intention(as of the current government) on joing the USA.

Filipino identity is unique in itself, there's little hints of everything.

We NEVER had any English influence FYI. sure.gif Since mixing with the Spanish and USA was part of their colonization it was unevitable although Filipinos had so many revolts against the Spanish and the USA but was crushed due to agressive tactics by the Spaniards and same for the USA. You seem to lack knowledge about this yet you keep coming with invalid arguments.

Yes, our dignity and our history because thats what makes us Filipinos.

pardon me BatangDamo but i'd just like one statement to this guy before i ignore him completely..

first of all, the US doesn't want the Philippines as a 52nd state. that is pretty obvious and for you to understand that i'd gladly explain it to you:

1. the US had more than 40 years of control of the Philippines and yet it never considered it as a state but as a colony. they should have done that a long time ago.

2. if the Philippines would become a state, the "would-be" Philippines state would then be by the far the largest number of people and then has the highest number of votes.. 43 million votes to be exact. with 43 million votes, a Filipino native-turned-american can then be elected into the President of the strongest nation in the world.

and fyi, the united states is not supposed to be called that way. coz if they are states, they should have been separate entities since in the strictest sense, a "state is a community of people with sovereignty, a definite territory, and government". now there's the word "sovereignty" meaning independence from another. in the US, there are about 51 states yet they are under one government. they should be called regions for that matter. but that's a historical error so we can't do anything about it now. whew.. now i pointed my part in the argument. whatever you want to argue about the Philippines as a 52nd state, ask your polsci prof.

and for the record, you're not YET as of the moment on my ignore list. i might still reply to you if you have posts that do make sense.. icon_redface.gif

U.S. doesn't even want Puerto Rico as a state, what makes you think they want the Philippines? icon_rolleyes.gif

On the other hand, what makes you think Filipinos want to give up their right to govern themselves to be part of the Pax Americana? embarassedlaugh.gif
