I think it's a positive step forward.

Monetary compensation is my only worry because to me it's impractical, and there is no upper limit on how much they should be paid. I suppose one of the best ways to help them out is to increase funding and increase access in the workplace for them. Increase facilities and infrastructure for the communities and promote their culture throughout the rest of Australia, but what would I know?

Kevin Rudd is unlike John Howard, not one racist vein in him. It's a good step forward, and leaves the aboriginal little excuse to continue being bums and $hit on the street.

Though - he needs to prove his firmness from now on... he's been too nice since entering office.

it's easy to say sorry but it's not that easy to mindset people's view towards Aboriginals..and the problems that Aboriginals faced wont just go away because by Kevin Rudd saying sorry...
Yes By saying sorry we created the first step to change things in this country but lets not celebrate it to early and forgot the problems that they are still facing.

It seems, my friend, that you have little respect for authority. Is this not the Prime Minister of Australia to whom you refer? 'Whatever' doesn't cut it. EX-PM Howard, Bushie's deputy sherrif? He's your buddy, all the way to Texas. But there HAS been a long awaited change in government last year.
