Hanfu looks very graceful. It shouldn't be too hard to revive it but I guess not everyone wants it back.

I think it shouldnt be hard to bring back hanfu. One big obstacle I see in the hanfu revival is that hanfu takes too long to dress or its too long. I have several Ideas to get rid of these obstacles

1) Im sure we can shorten some hanfu, Hanfu comes in all lengths, some are long and some are short, some are for casual dressing and some are dresses etc.

2) Now some say that it takes too long to dress, like putting on one layer of hanfu after another, one idea I have is instead of having all these different sets dressing one layer over another, why not we just make only 1 layer of hanfu clothes and sew the second layer or so into one, so now you have a clothes that have the illusion that your dressing several layers but instead its actually only 1 layer, with the second layer being a small piece of cloth being cut and sew together under the first layer, making it look like several layers. So now you can dress it as fast as your modern clothes, just take that costume and put on and bam you get it all dress in under 10 seconds.

Great idea!

I have a thought to make a Hanfu jacket too.

You can combine it with any modern cloth, because the function similar to modern jacket but with Hanfu model.

Let's open a factory and shops!

And starting wearing it, it will be popular.

We should create more these kind of topics in Chinese chat instead of all those politic threads.

@doggyji true, not even most ordinary Han people care about Hanfu nowadays, not to mention, many of such activities come along with strong irrational nationalism, which does no good to the country.

MingHuaTang(明华堂) is a company specializing in making Hanfu, I'm going to order one for myself and my wife, but I've heard that they are a little pricy haha,

Very beautiful. I can see how Japanese Kimono developed from this type of clothing.

@Rayzor many of those costumes in your pictures look unprofessional to be honest, they look DIY.
if you're interested , you should check out the link I posted earlier.

LOL!! embarassedlaugh.gif I just found it in other forum so I just post it here. Anyway, I hope you post more pictures of Hanfu in the future. By the way, those hanfu pictures that you post, can you please label which dynasty they come from?

there are a lot Hanfu advocates out there who have to make Hanfu themselves because they can't find one in the market

understandable tho, not many people care about hanfu, no one is going produce something that's almost unprofitable, sad isn't it?

but I just found about Minghuadang, a company specializing in making ming style hanfu, don't need to worry about the authentication of the style, they're professional and they know what they're doing.

most of pictures are Ming style.

Check this out, most of them are ming style as well, I know Minghuatang from this vid.
so nice to know there're businesses which make Hanfu professionally, since the low demand so in order to survive , their products are little pricy, but who cares, I'd like to contribute my fair share for Hanfu revival, icon_smile.gif

I like the girl with the red coat with a white heron stitched on it the sleeve the best.

I don't know about hanfu for men tho, they're way too long and I like wearing pants and all you know. I heard that in the later Chinese dynasties we started learning from and approaching the nomad clothing styles because they were just so much more convenient.

hmmm... some of them looks like they are from the 5th element (hollywood movie)

i think they are modern fashion and rendition rather than traditional constumes... a more consistent show would be better - either all authentic, or all creative. a mix of both can be misleading and cause confusion to those who are unfamiliar with it.

i would have thought these are modelled from japanese kimono, rather than the other way.
